Abstract: It is provided an image processing apparatus comprising: reception means for receiving image date sent from a transmission-side apparatus; discrimination means for discriminating whether the image data received by the reception means is a character image or a halftone image; and processing means for performing segmentation processing of the reception data, wherein when the discrimination means discrimitaes that the reception image data is a character image, the processing means performs interpolation processing on the basis of reception image data in a predetermined area to perform segmentation processing of image data of a pixel of interest, so that the apparatus can perform segmentation processing of input data by simple control at high speed and low cost.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate more than one kind of document data in proper format that a user desires at the same time through less-frequency scanning operation by generating and holding data in specific format and converting the held data to a format indicated by an indicating means. SOLUTION: A scanner controller 20 requested for a job checks the kind of a document by using a sensor and reads the attribute of a document file out after prescan settings are checked to check whether or not the matching document kind and prescan specification are set. When the matching document kind and prescan specification are set, the attributes of the document file are read out and a document format generated after scanning is added to a generated data list. The generated data list is checked to determine scan conditions and actual scanning operation is performed to generate data in format based upon the generated data list.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multifunctional peripheral equipment which is easy to use for a user by informing an information processor that a buffer is nearly full in such a case. SOLUTION: When writing to a log is enabled (S8402), log data are written to the position that a write pointer indicates in a log file storage area on DISK (S8403) and the position that the write pointer indicates in a log data file property table is advanced by one log (S8404). When the number of logs which can be stored between the position (value) that write pointer indicates and the position (value) that a read pointer indicates is smaller than a reference value, a warning message indicating that the log buffer is nearly full is sent to a client PC and displayed on displays (S8406) respectively. The reference value is held in the multifunctional peripheral equipment and can be varied.
