Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the electrostatic recorder which uses a regular paper and which can form a recorded picture without an expensive needle electrode by applying a pulse voltage between the segment electrode and the spiral electrode according to printing information. CONSTITUTION:A positive voltage is applied to the segment electrodes 3b-1, 3b-2,... from a high voltage power source 3d at the timing that a paper P reaches the prescribed position. The voltage is applied by controlling a switch, provided for each electrode, so as to be opened according to a video signal outputted from a control circuit. For example, when a pulse voltage is applied to the segment electrode 3b-1 according to the video signal, an electric field is produced only between the segment electrode 3b-1 and the linear electrode 9, and electric force lines N are formed from the segment electrode 3b-1 toward the linear electrode 9. Consequently, toner T of negative polarity is receives Coulomb's force toward the segment 3b-1 along the electric force lines N, and the toner T is attached to the front surface P0 of the paper P via a gap G.

CONSTITUTION:A recording head 3 has many segment electrodes 3b-1, 3b-2 interleaved at both sides of an insulating plate 3a, the segment electrodes are connected to a high voltage power source 3d through switches 3c-1, 3c-2, a control voltage to be output from a control voltage output circuit 11 to control electrodes 13a-13c is output at a predetermined timing with respect to the output timing of a high voltage to be output from the high voltage power source 3d to the segment electrodes 3b-1, 3b-2, thereby desirably printing. Thus, the relationship between a high voltage printing period Ps and a control voltage printing period Pc is Pc>=Ps, and the control voltage is applied to the control electrodes 13a-13c slightly before the start timing of the high voltage applying period Ps. Thus, the sheet P is clearly printed in a circular shape.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To directly record a good image stably on an ordinary paper by providing a plurality of segment electrodes as a signal electrode confronting to a common electrode having a spiral electrode via a toner carrier body, passing a recording material between said toner carrier body and common electrode, and applying a bias voltage of an opposite polarity to that of an electrostatic charge of toners to said common electrode. CONSTITUTION:A segment pole 4 and a screw pole 5 are provided confronting each other in a printing head section H. A toner carrier body 6 and a paper P run between the poles 4 and 5. The segment pole 4 is constituted of many- segment electrodes 4b. Each segment electrode 4b is connected to a high pressure power source 4d which can apply a high voltage of direct current. The power source 4d applies a high voltage of the same polarity as that of an electrostatic charge of toners (t) to each segment electrode 4b. A plurality of linear electrodes 5b are spirally laid on the surface of a cylindrical base 5a of the screw pole 5. The screw pole 5 is rotated in a direction opposite to the toner carrier body 6. All of the linear electrodes 5b are applied with a bias voltage of a reverse polarity to that of the electrostatic charge of the toners from the base 5a through a shaft 5c.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a sharp image on plain paper by a simple structure by opposing a plurality of spiral signal electrodes to which a printing signal is inputted to a single common electrode in parallel so as to cross said common electrode and supplying toner to this electrode opposed part in a uniformly distributed state. CONSTITUTION:A screw pole 4 is formed by spinally laying two or more, for example, five linear electrodes 4b1 - 4b5 on the peripheral surface of a cylindrical base 4a and five switches 4e1 - 4e5 are controlled so as to be opened and closed corresponding to a printing signal and output voltage of negative polarity is selectively applied to each of the linear electrodes 4bn by a high voltage power supply 4f. By this method, an electric field is formed at the opposed part of each of the linear electrodes 4bn and a fixed electrode 5a and, along the line of electric field of said magnetic field, the negatively charged toner on a dielectric sleeve 6b is transferred to the paper P fed in the direction shown by an arrow (b). In this case, since bias voltage having polarity inverse to the charge of the toner is applied to the fixed electrode 5a, electric field force stronger as compared with a case only applying high voltage to each linear electrode 4b is obtained and the toner can be transferred to the paper P rapidly and strongly.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer which is capable of printing data with a well-balanced lower margin and is free from the disorder of a printed image caused by the ejection of continuously printed matter. SOLUTION: A paper feed roller takes out recording papers P one by one on a paper feed tray and sends them to the downstream. The recording papers P are sent to a printing part B while being brought into contact under pressure with a platen 17 with a pressing roller 23. A printing head 16 is transferred back and forth in the main scan direction and at the same time, ejects an ink droplet to form (record) an image on the recording papers P. On the other hand, a pair of conveying rollers 15 convey the recording papers P intermittently, synchronized with the shuttle action of the printing head 16. A paper ejecting roller 25a sends the recording papers P downstream through a point contact by a serrated protrusion. A pair of second conveying rollers 27 are set at a standby position where ink dries and strongly hold the recording papers P which have no fear through drying that an image may be damaged. Further, the paired conveying rollers 27 convey the recording papers P whose rear ends are disengaged with the paired conveying rollers 15, keeping the papers P well poised and the printing heat 16 continues its printing action.

CONSTITUTION:Recording voltage (Vs) that varies between a voltage (-200V) for making it 'on' for formation of black dots by transferring toners and a voltage (0V) for making it 'off' for recording of the transferred toners is applied to recording electrodes in accordance with dot recording information, and thereby a dot recording image is formed. At this time, the voltage for making it 'off' is applied regularly over a time TR around the end of a recording cycle Tw for one dot, regardless of the dot recording information.

On the other hand, on an end having a wide width of the recording electrode sheet 17, a plurality of driving circuit elements 18 for outputting a record signal voltage to each recording electrode E constituting the recording electrode string ER in accordance with an input recording information are mounted. In this case, the recording electrode lines 17a are divided into groups. Each group has N lines which are extended on the wide end part to which LSI chip driving circuit elements 18 are connected directly respectively. The recording electrode sheet 17 arranges the narrow end part, on which the recording electrodes are formed in parallel, in a position most adjacent to the circumferential surface of a cylindrical electrode 5 on the circumference surface of a developing sleeve 15, so as to cover about half of the circumferential surface of the developing sleeve 15.

A recording electrode sheet 17 is arranged such that the whole width of a tip of the sheet 17 protrudes uniformly to the downstream side from the step difference G so as to cover the circumferential surface of the developing sleeve 15. Slits C are formed on base films 17b between each recording electrode EL, respectively. These slits C are formed not only between the recording electrodes El, but also in parts covered with an insulating coat 17c. Thus, each recording electrode El is separated from the recording electrodes El on both sides so as to be capable of oscillating freely individually in the direction of thickness.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize formation of a high resolution image by disposing an electrode, applied with a surface layer composed of a material having volume resistivity variable with the intensity of working electric field, oppositely to a recording electrode. CONSTITUTION:A tubular electrode 5 has a double layer structure in which a surface layer 5b is laminated on the peripheral surface of a conductive sleeve 5a. The surface layer 5b is composed of such material as the volume resistivity decreases as the intensity of working electric field increases. Developing field for forming black dots has maximum intensity in the center of the width of recording electrode line and the intensity decreases substantially in symmetrical toward the opposite ends over the width of the electrode. Since the surface layer 5b composed of an dielectric is applied on the tubular electrode 5 at a recording position W, volume resistivity is minimized at a part opposing to the lateral center of the recording electrode line when the developing electric field functions on the surface layer 5b of the tubular electrode and the electric lines of force is converged to the central part of dot thus reducing the radiation angle theta. According to the constitution, a recording image having high resolution can be formed stably for a long term.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a sharp recording image having high resolving power by forming at least the part holding a recording electrode of a developer carrier member from an insulating material and forming a large number of recessed parts to the surface of the insulating material part and respectively arranging recording electrodes to the bottom surfaces of the recessed parts. CONSTITUTION:Recording electrodes EL are arranged to a large number of the grooves G parallelly formed to the surface of an insulating coating layer 17c becoming a developer carrying surface so as to extend in a developer feed direction so that the leading end parts of the recording electrode wires 17a thereof extend on the bottom surfaces of the grooves G. The magnetic toner (d) fed to the surface of the insulating coating layer 17c enters the grooves G at a recording position W. Since the magnetic permeability of the magnetic toner (d) is larger than that of the insulating coating layer 17c forming both side walls of the grooves G, the line of magnetic force generated from a magnet roll is converged to the grooves G. The magnetic toner (d) runs in a line along the converged line of magnetic force to gather on each of the recording electrodes EL and a toner chain extending toward a cylindrical electrode 5 is formed. Since no magnetic toner (d) is almost present between the adjacent recording electrodes EL, EL, the generation of a voltage leak phenomenon between the recording electrodes EL is certainly prevented and a sharp toner recording image can be formed.
