Abstract:
The collecting bag comprises a bag member (1) formed by two film blanks (2, 3) with joined edges, and a discharge portion (6) comprising a discharge opening. A closure device (7) at the discharge portion (6) for bringing the bag from a discharge position, in which the bag is open, to a position of use, in which the bag is closed, is accommodated in accommodating means (8) in the position of use of the bag. The accommodating means (8) comprises at least one open receptacle formed in said bag member (1) and has a basis portion (9) in which said film blanks (2, 3) are undetachably connected to each other. The accommodating means may comprise a retaining element in the form of a strip (10) having at least one engagement section for releasable engagement with a corresponding section or corresponding sections on said bag member (1) or on the opposite end of said retaining element.
Abstract:
A pressure sensitive adhesive composition suitable for medical purposes comprising a rubbery elastomeric base and one or more water soluble or water swellable hydrocolloids, said adhesive composition comprising a substantially homogeneous mixture of 25 - 60 % of one or more polybutenes, 3 - 35% of one or more styrene copolymers, and 20 - 60% of one or more hydrocolloids shows very good properties as an adhesive for ostomy appliances.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an ostomy appliance comprising a body side member comprising an adhesive wafer or pad for securing the appliance to the user's skin, said wafer or pad having a hole for receiving a stoma, and an optionally separately exchangeable receiving member or bag secured to the body side ostomy member for receiving secretions from the ostomy, said ostomy appliance further comprising a separate sealing member disposed in the hole of the wafer or pad surrounding the stoma, said sealing member being of a hypo-allergenic adhesive and being in the form of a mouldable mass or a ring.
Abstract:
Adhesive compositions comprising a water-dispersible polyester shows a very rapid water absorption and improves the wet tack and is, at the same time, resistant to disintegration upon contact with body fluids.
Abstract:
v mouldable mass of a hypoallergenic, substantially non-memory putty-like adhesive for use in connection with an ostomy appliance, said mass comprising: a) 1 to 20 % by weight of a blockcopolymer having a major content of di-block copolymer, b) 5 to 60 % by weight of a tackifying liquid constituent, and c) 1 to 10 % by weight of a waxy constituent has superior quality with respect to cohesion, gives the mass resistance against erosion and at the same time enables the removal of the mass as an integrated unit without leaving residues at the skin.
Abstract:
An ostomy device that comprises an adhesive wafer (1) for attaching to the skin around the stoma. The wafer comprises an adhesive layer (3) having a proximal adhesive surface and a distal surface. The distal surface is covered with a backing layer (2). The wafer comprises a central portion (6) and a peripheral portion (7), and it comprises at least a first and a detection zone (4), wherein the detection zone is configured to provide a tactile sensation on the distal surface of the wafer when exposed to moisture.
Abstract:
The current invention relates to radially divided adhesive wafers for applying to the skin of a human, and which increases the wear time of such adhesive wafers. The adhesive wafer comprises an inner annular adhesive layer, an outer annular adhesive layer encircling the inner annular adhesive layer, an attachment zone for attaching a collection bag, provided on the distal side of the adhesive wafer, and connection means for mechanically connecting the first annular adhesive layer to the second annular adhesive layer, wherein the connection means comprises a first and a second connection area on the distal side of the respective first and second annular adhesive layers, wherein at least one of the connection areas are arranged in a radial distance from the radial edges of the respective annular adhesive layer. By providing an adhesive wafer as described, it has been shown that the time before a leakage occurs may be increased. In many cases, the leakage is even prevented. This results in the user being able to wear the adhesive wafer for a longer period of time.
