Un montaje de compresor que comprende un compresor (10); un motor (28, 46, 48) acoplado a dicho compresor para accionar dicho compresor; un protector (54) de motor asociado a dicho motor, siendo accionado dicho protector (54) de motor entre una primera posición cuando dicho motor está dentro de unos parámetros de funcionamiento específicos, y una segunda posición cuando dicho motor está fuera de dichos parámetros de funcionamiento específicos; un sensor (330; 332; 334) que monitoriza una característica de funcionamiento de dicho compresor; caracterizado por: un sistema (100) de diagnóstico asociado a dicho protector (54) de motor, incluyendo dicho sistema (100) de diagnóstico circuitería (104) lógica asociada a dicho protector de motor que funciona analizando un estado de dicho protector de motor como una función del tiempo e identificando una causa de fallo específica; donde dicho sensor (330; 332; 334) está en comunicación con dicho sistema (100) de diagnóstico.
Abstract:
A refrigeration/air conditioning system includes a compressor (10) having a motor protector (54) which stops the compressor's motor when it senses an out of specification condition, A diagnostic system (100) of the refrigeration/air conditioning system monitors the status of the motor protector (54). The diagnostic system (100) includes logic circuitry (104) that diagnoses the type of problem the compressor (10) or the system is having based upon the running times and status of the motor in conjunction with the times and status of the tripped motor protector (54). The diagnostic system (100) also includes either a discharge pressure sensor (330) or a condenser temperature sensor (332), an ambient air sensor (334) and a voltage sensor (404). The sensors provide information to the diagnostic system (100) which enables it to determine where a system fault has occurred.

Un aparato para la reparación de un sistema de aire acondicionado averiado que incluye un motor eléctrico, dicho aparato compuesto por: un primer sensor para detectar un primer parámetro operativo de dicho sistema de aire acondicionado averiado; un segundo sensor para detectar un segundo parámetro operativo de dicho sistema de aire acondicionado averiado; un tercer sensor para detectar un parámetro operativo del motor de dicho sistema de aire acondicionado averiado; un microcontrolador en comunicación con dichos sensores para recibir una señal de cada uno de dichos sensores; un ordenador portátil en comunicación con dicho microcontrolador, teniendo dicho ordenador una memoria que contiene parámetros operativos normales de varios sistemas de aire acondicionado, siendo dicho ordenador operativo para comparar dichos parámetros operativos primero, segundo y del motor de uno concreto de la dicha variedad de sistemas de aire acondicionado para diagnosticar dicho sistema de aire acondicionado averiado.

A hermetic scroll compressor includes a hermetic shell through which the pressure within the shell is monitored. In one embodiment, a housing is resistance welded into an aperture extending through the shell. An oil filled pressure sensor or a dry type pressure sensor is associated with the housing. The oil filled pressure sensor extends through an aperture in the shell. The dry type pressure sensor is located on the housing outside of the shell. In another embodiment, the shell forms the diaphragm portion of the pressure sensor.

A compressor includes a shell, a compression mechanism, a motor, a data module, and a compressor controller. The data module includes a processor and a memory. The compressor controller includes a processor and a memory. The data module receives sensed data, stores sensed data in the memory, and communicates sensed data to the compressor controller. The compressor controller controls a capacity of the compressor based on the sensed data and is operable to communicate with a system controller of a refrigeration system.

A sensor module for a compressor, having an electric motor operating at a first voltage, the sensor module operating at a second voltage, is provided. The sensor module includes a plurality of inputs connected to a plurality of sensors that generate a plurality of operating signals associated with operating conditions of the compressor. A processor is connected to the plurality of inputs and records multiple operating condition measurements from the plurality of operating signals. A communication port is connected to the processor for communicating said operating condition measurements to a control module that controls the compressor. The processor is disposed within an electrical enclosure of the compressor, the electrical enclosure being configured to house electrical terminals for connecting a power supply to the electric motor. The second voltage is less than said first voltage.

A compressor assembly includes a shell, a compressor housed within the shell, and a motor drivingly connected to the compressor. In addition, a sensor assembly is provided for monitoring operating parameters of the compressor assembly. Processing circuitry, in communication with the sensor assembly, is operable to process the operating parameters of the compressor assembly according to predefined rules. Furthermore, a terminal assembly is hermetically secured to the shell and is in communication with the sensor assembly. A plug is attached to the terminal assembly outside of the shell and serves to operably connect the processing circuitry with the sensor assembly.
