    Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for communication of subscriber identity module related data in a wireless communication system. The arrangement comprises a wireless communication terminal with a subscriber identity unit which includes a subscriber identity module, to which a subscriber identity is assigned. The present invention also relates to a method for communication of subscriber identity module related data in a wireless communication system for implementation in a wireless communication terminal having a subscriber identity unit. The subscriber identity unit is arranged to communicate the subscriber identity module related data, such as, for example the subscriber identity, to the terminal over a local wireless communication link. The arrangement according to the present invention makes it possible to separate the subscriber identity unit from the terminal while the terminal is communicating using the wireless system.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements pertaining to mobile telephone modems. According to the invention, the mobile telephone modem includes memory means in which one or more ranking orders of data bearer services is/are stored. In response to a call request, one of the stored ranking orders is selected. If only one ranking order is stored, this ranking order will, of course, be selected. Calling is first carried out with the highest ranked data bearer service in the selected ranking order. If a call connection is not made, it is determined on the basis of an error message from the mobile telephone network whether or not the highest ranked data bearer service is supported by the mobile telephone network. If the highest ranked data bearer service is not supported by the mobile telephone network, the calling procedure is repeated sequentially with respect to the lower ranked data bearer services, until a call connection has been made or until it is determined that the data bearer service concerned is supported by the mobile telephone network but that connection of the call has, nevertheless, been unsuccessful, for instance because the called DTE unit is engaged or disconnected.

    Abstract: A portable communication apparatus (1) has a movable cover (16) with a liquid crystal display (19, 20) mounted thereon. The liquid crystal display (19, 20) is double-sided in at least one part (20), hence showing the information both from a front side and from a back side (21). This part of the display (20) is transmissive, and the rest of the display (19) is either reflective or transflective. The information is viewable through a window (22) in the cover (16) when the cover (16) is closed. As soon as the cover (16) changes positions from closed to opened, or from opened to closed, the information will be rotated 180°, so that the information will appear correctly. The portable communication apparatus has means (30, 31) and steps for the rotation of information, which automatically will be initiated, when the position of the cover (16) is detected by a controller (30).
