    Abstract: A monolithic high frequency voltage controlled oscillator trimming circuit includes a plurality of capacitance loops (140) selectively connected between a first (120) and second (130) differential input of a voltage oscillator active network (110). A plurality of diodes (159, 160), connected in series with the respective plurality of capacitance loops (140), selectively connect respective capacitance loops (140) between the first (120) and second (130) differential input when forward biased. In a similar fashion, the plurality of diodes (159, 160) selectively disconnect the respective capacitance loops (140) from the first (120) and second (130) differential input when reverse biased. A controller (180) applies a forward biasing voltage to the diode (159, 160) of the selected capacitance loop (140) to connect the capacitance loop (140) to the active network (110) of the voltage controlled oscillator and applies a reverse biasing voltage to the diode (159, 160) of the selected capacitance loop (140) to disconnect the capacitance loop (140) from the active network (110). The diodes (159, 160) used in the capacitance loops (140) form a switch operable at high frequencies and are formed from a bipolar complementary metal oxide semiconductor electro-static discharge protection diode.

    Abstract: A display device (1;31), capable of providing visual displays (2) from electrical input signals, is controlled by means of a presentation application program adapted to convert data files representing images to be displayed into electrical input signals for the display device. Instructions are transmitted to said presentation application program from a portable telecommunications device (5;75) having an information access program for accessing a global information network, and a communication application program for communication with said information access program, and for controlling the presentation application program, is executed. In this way the display device can be controlled from the portable telecommunications device instead of a PC. A user does not have to carry a PC to the presentation location, and the need to struggle with a good deal of setting up before a presentation can be shown is avoided.

    Abstract: A multi-functional mobile station (MMS) (610B) associated with at least one public land mobile network having switching circuitry implemented with a first cross-connect base-band switch system (370A, 370B) and a second cross-connect base-band switch system (365A, 365B). The first cross-connect base-band switch system (370A, 370B) is for selectably effectuating a first connection between an external receiver and at least one of the transceiver and the microphone of the MMS. The second cross-connect base-band switch system (365A, 365B) is for selectably effectuating a second connection between an external transmitter and at least one of the transceiver and the speaker (350) of the MMS (610B). The MMS (610B) is adapted to include one output node (335) for establishing the first connection and one input node (340) for establishing the second connection.
