    Abstract: The method involves calculating colorimetric co-ordinates of digitally generated transmission spectrums. The spectrums having the co-ordinates corresponding to that of an initial color filter are selected. A fictive filter corresponding to each selected spectrum is quantitatively evaluated, where the evaluation result characterizing a capacity of the fictive filter is obtained by using a CIECAM02 model to stimulate a visual perception of a color sample via the fictive filter. One of the selected spectrums having better quantitative evaluation is chosen to improve the initial filter.
