Abstract: Comunicaciones de acceso multiple por division de codigo (Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)), conocidas también como comunicaciones de banda ancha. Un método para conservar la capacidad de un enlace inalámbrico ISDN de un sistema de comunicacion de banda ancha incluyendo un primer transceptor de banda ancha y un segundo transceptor de banda ancha, recibiendo dicho primer transceptor de banda ancha una senal de datos digitales que incluye un método de indicador predeterminado que corresponde a un período inactivo y transfiriendo la senal de datos digitales a dicho segundo transceptor como una senal de banda ancha y recibiendo dicho segundo transceptor de banda ancha la senal de banda ancha y liberando la senal de datos digitales comprendiendo el método los pasos de: retardar, por el primer transceptor la senal de datos digitales para formar una senal de datos digitales retardadas, monitorear la senal de datos digitales para detectar el modelo de indicador predeterminado; transmitir la senal de datos digitales retardadas como la senal de banda ancha al segundo transceptor; suspender la transmision de la senal de datos digitales retardada cuando esta presente el modelo indicador; detectar, por el segundo transceptor, la ausencia de la senal de datos digitales retardados e insertar el modelo de indicador predeterminado en la senal de datos digitales liberada.

Abstract: The invention provides a spread spectrum communication system for maintaining an initial transmit power level of a communication station during periods of inactivity. The system comprises a first station (501) and a second station (502), the initial transmit power level of which is maintained, wherein the first station generates an automatic power control signal by comparing a measured noise power level in a communication channel and an estimated system transmit power level and the second station occasionally transmits a spread spectrum signal whilst in an inactive state and receives the automatic power control signal to adjust an initial transmit power level thereof.

Abstract: The present invention provides a multichannel digital filter for filtering a plurality of signals transmitted via a plurality of channels in a code division multiple access (CDMA) communication system, the multichannel digital filter comprising: a plurality of filter inputs, one for each of the plurality of channels; a filter output for generating a single filter output for the plurality of filter inputs from the plurality of channels; a plurality of look-up tables (LUTs), each LUT comprising a plurality of memory addresses, for storing respective ones of precomputed weighted sums for all possible combinations of the plurality of filter inputs, whereby each LUT outputs a weighted sum of the plurality of filter inputs in accordance with the filter inputs from the plurality of channels; and a plurality of registers and a plurality of adders alternately arranged in series, whereby each adder adds outputs of the LUT and the value stored in each register in each operation cycle and each register buffers the output of each adder temporarily until the next operation cycle.

Abstract: A MULTIPLE ACCESS, SPREAD-SPECTRUM COMMUNICATION SYSTEM PROCESSES A PLURALITY OF INFORMATION SIGNALS RECEIVED BY A RADIO CARRIER STATION (RCS) OVER TELECOMMUNICATION LINES FOR SIMULTANEOUS TRANSMISSION OVER A RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) CHANNEL AS A CODE-DIVISION-MULTIPLEXED (CDM) SIGNAL TO A GROUP OF SUBSCRIBER UNITS (SUS). THE RCS RECEIVES A CALL REQUEST SIGNAL THAT CORRESPONDS TO A TELECOMMUNICATION LINE INFORMATION SIGNAL, AND A USER IDENTIFICATION SIGNAL THAT IDENTIFIES A USER TO RECEIVE THE CALL . THE RCS INCLUDES A PLURALITY OF CODE DIVISION MULTIPLE ACCESS (CDMA) MODEMS, ONE OF WHICH PROVIDES A GLOBAL PILOT CODE SIGNAL. THE MODEMS PROVIDE MESSAGE CODE SIGNAL SYNCHRONIZED TO THE GLOBAL PILOT SIGNAL. EACH MODEM COMBINES AN INFORMATION SIGNAL WITH A MESSAGE CODE SIGNAL TO PROVIDE A CDM PROCESSED SIGNAL. THE RCS INCLUDES A SYSTEM CHANNEL CONTROLLER COUPLED TO RECEIVE A REMOTE CALL. AN RF TRANSMITTER IS CONNECTED TO ALL OF THE MODEMS TO COMBINE THE CDM PROCESSED SIGNALS WITH THE GLOBAL PILOT CODE SIGNAL TO GENERATE A CDM SIGNAL. THE RF TRANSMITTER ALSO MODULATES A CARRIER SIGNAL WITH THE CDM SIGNAL AND TRANSMITS THE MODULATED CARRIER SIGNAL THROUGH AN RF COMMUNICATION CHANNEL TO THE SUS. EACH SU INCLUDES A CDMA MODEM WHICH IS ALSO SYNCHRONIZED TO THE GLOBAL PILOT SIGNAL. THE CDMA MODEM DESPREADS THE CDM SIGNAL AND PROVIDES A DESPREAD INFORMATION SIGNAL TO THE USER. THE SYSTEM INCLUDES A CLOSED LOOP POWER CONTROL METHOD FOR MAINTAINING A MINIMUM SYSTEM TRANSMIT POWER LEVEL FOR THE RCS AND THE SUS, AND SYSTEM CAPACITY MANAGEMENT FOR MAINTAINING A MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ACTIVE SUS FOR IMPROVED SYSTEM PERFORMANCE.
