Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a skin drug for external use, containing a specific branched fatty acid and alcohol, capable of improving percutaneous permeability of a water-soluble pharmcodynamic agent and excellent in humectant effects and persistent effects thereof. CONSTITUTION:A skin drug for external use containing (A) a branched fatty acid (e.g. 2-methylnonanoic acid or 2-ethyloctanoic acid) which is liquid at 20 deg.C and (B) an alcohol (e.g. ethanol, propanol or polyethylene glycol) which is freely miscible with the ingredient (A) at 20 deg.C. The ingredient (A) is blended in an amount of 0.1-90wt.%, preferably 1-50wt.% in the drug for the external use. The ingredient (B) is blended in an amount of 2-90wt.%, preferably 5-70wt.% in the drug for the external use. The above-mentioned drug for external use can be prepared in an optional dosage form, such as ointment, plaster, liniment, cataplasma or emulsion.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an external drug for skin effective in essentially preventing or curing chapped skin, by using a specific known compound having an effect to radically improve the water-retaining capability of a corneous layer and optionally a surfactant. CONSTITUTION:The objective external drug for skin contains (A) a compound of formula I (R and R are 10-26C straight- or branched-chain saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group) (e.g. a compound wherein both R and R are n-C10H21) or contains the compound A and (B) a surfactant [especially preferably nonionic surfactants, among which glyceryl ether of formula II (R is 8-24C alkyl) is most preferable: the amount of the surfactant is preferably 0.1-5% based on the whole composition]. The amount of the compound of formula I in the whole composition is preferably 0.1-20wt.% in the case of emulsion-type agent and 5-25wt.% in the case of oily agent.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of washing both paste- or solid-state sebum and liquid-state one, giving no feeling of dried or shrunk skin after washing the face, and giving good feeling during use, by including polyols, an anionic surfactant in crystal state, and so on. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by formulating (A) 50-95 wt.% polyol or polyol ether (e.g. isoprene glycol) capable of dissolving at least 1 wt.% palmitic acid at 35 deg.C, (B) 1-30 wt.% crystal having a particle size of 500 μm or smaller of a salt of an anionic surfactant (e.g. potassium lauryphosphate), and (C) 0.1-20 wt.% thickener (e.g. hydroxypropylcellulose), in a non-aqueous system containing 10 wt.% water or lower, with the composition having a viscosity of 5,000-7,000 cP at 25 deg.C.

The compound of the formula is obtained by reacting, e.g. a phosphorus oxyhalide such as phosphorus oxychloride with an alcohol corresponding to R , R and R in the formula directly or in the presence of a base according to the well-known method. The blend amount of the compound of the formula to a cosmetic or external preparation is preferably 0.001-90wt.%, especially 1-50wt.% based on total composition in the case of emulsion type.

The skin cleanser article is good in use touch, high in cleansing force against oily stains, and especially suitable for removing makers-up such as tip sticks, eye make-up, and water-resistant foundations.
