Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polyglycerin condensed-ricinoleic acid ester that slows down the coagulation speed appropriately when incorporated with a coagulant for soybean curds and allows the manufacture of soybean curds of good qualities. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the polyglycerin condensed-ricinoleic acid ester comprises a step (I) for obtaining a condensed ricinoleic acid by subjecting ricinoleic acid to a polycondensation reaction, and a step (II) for subjecting the condensed ricinoleic acid obtained in the step (I) and polyglycerin to an esterification reaction, where the condensed ricinoleic acid obtained in the step (I) is one having a predetermined high molecular weight ratio of at least 1. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing oleic acid containing a low content of polyunsaturated fatty acids such as linolic acid. SOLUTION: In this method for preparing oleic acid, when oleic acid is produced by hydrogenating an oleic acid containing polyunsaturated fatty acids (curde oleic acid), the hydrogenation is performed after allowing the crude oleic acid to contact with oxygen.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the monoalkanolamide comprises reacting a fatty acid or an ester thereof, with a monoalkanolamine, and adding one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of a sulfite, a hydrogensulfite and a pyrosulfite to the reaction product, steaming the reaction product, or adding one or more kinds of the group consisting of the sulfite, the hydrogensulfite and the pyrosulfite to the reaction product and further steaming the reaction product after the addition.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily produce an N-long-chain acylamino acid having high purity and free from clouding by hydrolyzing an amidonitrile in the presence of a basic substance and treating the obtained aqueous solution of an N-long-chain acylamino acid with an adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of an N-long-chain acylamino acid resistant to clouding is produced by hydrolyzing an amidonitrile of formula I (R CO is a 8-22C saturated or unsaturated fatty acid residue; R is H or a 1-3C alkyl; R is a 1-5C alkylene) in the presence of a basic substance and treating the resulting aqueous solution of an N-long-chain acylamino acid of formula II (M is a cation) with an adsorbent. The adsorbent is activated carbon, activated clay or a porous synthetic adsorbent composed mainly of Mg, Al, Si or their arbitrary combination. The amount of the adsorbent is preferably 0.1-10wt.% based on the N-long-chain acylamino acid salt of formula II. The aqueous solution of the compound of formula II is adjusted to pH1-5 with a mineral acid to separate the N-long-chain acylamino acid.

PURPOSE:To provide a new ammonium salt capable of imparting fibers with sufficient softness, antistaticity and excellent elasticity and hairs with softness, smoothness and moistness free from oily feeling in shampooed state as well as in dried state. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I or II (R is 1-4C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; R and R are 11-21C straight or branched-chain alkyl or alkenyl; R is H or 1-4C alkyl excluding the case that both of two R groups in the formula II are H; R is 12-22C straight or branched-chain alkyl or alkenyl; (m) is integer of 2-9; X is halogen, sulfate or 1-4C alkylsulfate), e.g. the compound of formula IV. The compound can be produced from the compounds of formula V to formula VII by conventional method, e.g. by quaternarizing the compound of the formula R -Y (Y is halogen) or (R )2SO4 or by neutralizing with a hydrohalogenic acid or sulfuric acid. A surfactant composition containing the compound exhibits the above effects and is useful as a soft-finishing agent for textile and hair-treating agent.
