Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid detergent composition which excels in detergency and good dispersion stability of builder particles.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound excellent in oil-solidifying ability, and useful as a cosmetic raw material or the like. SOLUTION: This new compound is a compound of the formula (R1 is an alkyl having such a chain length as to be 22-100 in the most frequent number of carbon atoms; and R2 to R5 are each a 1-10C hydrocarbon). The compound of the formula is obtained by the following steps: ethylene is polymerized pref. at 20-80 deg.C normally for about 0.1-24 h using an initiator comprising an organolithium compound such as n-butyllithium to form a polyethylene 22-100 in the most frequent number of carbon atoms, which is then reacted with a cyclic polysiloxane such as decamethylcyclopentasiloxane or a silane having two eliminable groups to produce a modified polyethylene with its molecular end being a silicon atom having a silanol group, silanolate group or the above- mentioned eliminable group, and subsequently two molecules of the modified polyethylene are coupled with each other in the presence of a catalyst such as activated clay pref. at 100-150 deg.C for about 1-72 h.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antifogging agent compsn. for glass which is excellent in the antifogging effect on glass and exhibits such an effect for a long term by using a hydrophilic polyether-base polymer having specific structural units. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains at least one hydrophilic polyether-base polymer having structural units represented by the formula (wherein R and R are each an optionally hydroxylated 1-20C alkyl group; and Y is an optionally hydroxylated 1-10C alkylene group). Any hydrophilic polyether-base polymer can be used when it has structural units represented by the formula; i.e., the polymer may be a homopolymer comprising the above-mentioned structural units or a copolymer comprising the structural units and one or more kinds of other structural units. The wt.-average mol.wt. of the polymer is pref. 500-1,000,000.
