    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily form a base film having much superior dimensional stability and surface smoothness by using an arom. polymer having an electron conjugated system. CONSTITUTION:A base film for a magnetic recording medium is formed with an arom. polymer having an electron conjugated system. The arom. polymer is an org. arom. polymer having a structure in which electrons can be conjugated over the whole or most of the molecular chain. A polymer obtd. by polymerizing thiophene, furan, benzene or a deriv. thereof, e.g., polythiophene, polyfuran, poly-p-phenylene, poly-p-phenylenevinylene or a deriv. thereof may be used as the arom. polymer. The base film has superior dimensional stability and surface smoothness and can be easily formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance, heat diffusibility and a heat radiation property utilized in a printer, by forming a base material for a thermal transfer ink film from an electron conjugate type aromatic polymer having specific physical characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A base material for a thermal transfer ink film is obtained by forming an electron conjugate type aromatic polymer having heat diffusivity of 0.01cm /sec or more at 20 deg.C, which is prepared by polymerizing a monomer selected from pyrrole, thiophene, furan, benzene or a derivative thereof, into a membrane. When this base material for the thermal transfer ink film is used, since the electron conjugate type aromatic polymer has good heat resistance of 300-600 deg.C, printing at a higher temp. becomes possible. As an embodiment of the electron conjugate type aromatic polymer, there are a heterocyclic 5-membered compound such as polypyrrole, polythiophene or polyfuran and a derivative thereof.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyanthracene useful as a semiconductor material, by polymerizing, an anthracene which may be substituted by anodic oxidation. CONSTITUTION:To an o-dichlorobenzene solution of an electrolyte which is a salt of a halogen-containing anion with a tetraalkylammonium (e.g., tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate), a Lewis acid-generating ionic compound (e.g., cupric chloride) and an anthracene which may be substituted are added, and the resulting solution is subjected to electrochemical polymerization by anodic oxidation at a temperature ranging from the freezing point of the solvent to its boiling point to obtain polyanthracene consisting of repeating anthracene units and having an electrical conductivity at room temperature of 10 S/cm.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode active material suitable for secondary battery by forming a poly-para-phenylene film by anodic oxidation polymerization of benzene or its derivative in an organic solvent containing electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A poly-para-phenylene film is obtained by anodic oxidation poplymerization of benzene or its derivative in an organic solvent containing an ion selected from a group comprising divalent copper ion, divalent silver ion, trivalent iron ion, trivalent manganese ion, ruthanium ion, rhenium ion, and rhodium ion in addition to ordinary electrolyte. The poly-para-phenylene film obtained has uniform smooth surface structure, and is flexible, and its shape is freely changed according to the shape of an electrode used in the anodic oxidation polymerization. As a result, this film is suitable as an electrode active material for a secondary battery.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce an electroconductive polymer excellent in heat resistance and moldability in good yield by electro-chemically anodizing an aromatic compound (derivative) in an electrolyte solution containing copper ions. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte solution containing copper ions is prepared by dissolving at least 0.001mol/l of an electrolyte containing at least one ion selected from among BF4 , ClO4 and AsF6 (e.g., LiBF4) and at least 0.001mol/l of a copper compound (e.g., CuCl2) in a polar solvent (e.g., nitrobenzene). At least 0.1mol/l of at least one aromatic compound or its derivative selected from among benzene, biphenyl, diphenyl-benzene and diphenylyl is dissolved or dispersed in the above electrolyte solution and anodized electrochemically by applying a voltage of 5-80V between the anode and the cathode to form an electroconductive polymer in the form of a smooth uniform film having an electric conductivity >=100s/m on the side of the anode.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To make it possible to use a polymerization solution containing a substance which is corrosive to electrodes, by performing an operation of immersing electrodes in the polymerization solution under application of a voltage between them in the electrochemical production of an electroconductive polymer film.
    CONSTITUTION: In the formation of an electroconductive polymer film on the surface of an electrode by immersing, for example, a NESA glass electrode (an electroconduc tive film comprising a thin SnO
    2 film formed on the surface of glass) in a polymeriza tion solution and electrochemically polymerizing the solution, it is impossible to per form such formation if the polymerization solution contains a component which degrades and dissolves said electroconductive film. However, such an electroconductive film can be formed by previously applying a voltage sufficient to allow the polymeriza tion reaction to proceed in the reaction system to the electrodes and immersing the electrodes under application of the voltage in the polymerization solution. Thus, the surface of the electrode can be protected and the reaction can proceed uniformly and satifactorily because when the electrode is immersed in the solution, the electroconductive polymer film can be formed on its surface before the degradation of the electrode occurs.

    CONSTITUTION: An electrolyte comprising a halogen compound (e.g., lithium iodide or lithium bromide) and a monomer comprising a polyamine substituted compound of a molecule of an electronically conjugated system (e.g., p- phenylenediamine of 4,4'-diaminostilbene)are dissolved in a solvent such as acetonitrile or dimethylformamide and poured into a reaction vessel equipped with a cathode of, e.g., nickel and an anode of, e.g., platinum. The monomer is oxidation-polymerized by application of a current between cathode 2 and anode 4 to deposit an electroconductive polymer on anode 4. Anode 4 is withdrawn, washed and dried to obtain an electroconductive polymer film useful for, e.g., display elements.

    CONSTITUTION: Phenylenediamine and an electrolyte (e.g., lithium iodide or lithium bromide) dissolved in a solvent such as acetonitrile or dimethylformami de is poured into a reaction apparatus equipped with an anode 2 of, e.g., plati num and a cathode 3 of, e.g., nickel. The phenylenediamine is electrochemically oxidized by application of a current between anode 2 and cathode 3 to deposit polyazophenylene having repeating units of the formula on the surface of anode 2. Anode 2 is withdrawn, washed with, e.g., acetonitrile and vacuum-dried to obtain the purpose film polyazophenylene.
