PURPOSE: Multi-viewpoint image generating method and apparatus are provided to remove an unnecessary process of rearranging images after completing the images for each viewpoint when generating a multi-viewpoint image. CONSTITUTION: A multi-viewpoint image generating method comprises the following steps: obtaining more than one reference view image using a multi-viewpoint image generator(S510); generating pixels for a virtual viewpoint based on pixels on the reference view image(S520); multiplexing the pixels on the virtual viewpoint and the reference view image(S530); Interpolating the image using multiplexed neighbor pixel information(S540); and outputting the obtained final multi-viewpoint image(S550).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for decoding video data. The method for decoding video data includes receiving coded video data including multi-view video data and depth data corresponding to the video data, acquiring motion data for inter-view prediction of a coding unit of the coded video data from the depth data, and performing inter-view prediction based on the motion data, and restoring video data according to the multi-view video data including the coding unit and the depth data based on the motion prediction.

Provided are an apparatus and method of transmitting and receiving associated broadcasting contents based on a heterogeneous network. The transmission system generates a basic contents stream for basic contents configuring the broadcasting contents to transmit the basic contents stream to a terminal through a broadcasting network, generates an additional contents stream for additional contents associated with the basic contents to transmit the additional contents stream to the terminal through a communication network, and further transmits at least one of associated playing information on the basic contents and associated playing information on the additional contents to the terminal, and the reception terminal receives the basic contents stream, the additional contents stream, and the associated playing information and synchronize the basic contents and the additional contents with each other to play them, thereby playing the broadcasting contents in real time.

Provided are a method and apparatus of synchronizing a reference picture and an additional picture of a real-time broadcasting program. The method includes: receiving an MPEG-2 transport stream (MPEG-2 TS) including a program level descriptor and an elementary stream (ES) level descriptor from a picture transmitting apparatus; loading an additional picture corresponding to a reference picture included in the elementary stream (ES) level descriptor from a memory provided in the picture receiving apparatus, based on file information regarding the reference picture; calculating a time difference between a current frame of the reference picture and a reference time stamp, based on the reference time stamp which is included in the program level descriptor and indicates a start time of a frame regarding the reference picture; synchronizing the frame regarding the reference picture and a frame regarding the additional picture by using the time difference; and providing a stereoscopic picture based on the synchronized frames regarding the reference picture and the additional picture. A stereoscopic video service can be stably provided.

When first viewpoint video data is received among the data of the two viewpoint, a storage unit of an image processing apparatus may generate a monoscopic video using the received first viewpoint video data. The first viewpoint video data may be stored. When second viewpoint video data corresponding to the first viewpoint video data is received, the stereoscopic video may be generated by mixing the first viewpoint video data with the second viewpoint video data, and thereby be displayed.
