Provided are an image magnification apparatus and method for three-dimensional display images. A multi-view image magnification apparatus includes: a region designation detection unit for detecting detection regions corresponding to the magnification regions of three-dimensional display images from original view images; a magnification ratio determination unit for determining the magnification ratios of the magnification regions; and a partial multiplexing unit for multiplexing non-detection regions except for the detection regions of the original view images according to a predetermined resolution and multiplexing the detection regions according the resolution which is different from the resolution of the non-detection regions on the basis of the magnification ratios. The present invention can magnify the images without lowering the resolution in a three-dimensional display.

Disclosed are an apparatus and method for extracting a texture image and a depth image. The apparatus of the present invention irradiates a pattern image onto a target object, photographs the image of the scene in which the pattern image is reflected by the target object, and extracts a texture image and a depth image at the same time using the image of the scene.

Eine Mehransicht-Bildvergrößerungsvorrichtung umfasst: eine Bereichsbezeichnungs- und Bereichsdetektionseinheit zum Detektieren von Detektionsbereichen, die den Vergrößerungsbereichen dreidimensionaler Anzeigebilder entsprechen, aus Originalansichtbildern; eine Vergrößerungsverhältnis-Bestimmungseinheit zum Bestimmen der Vergrößerungsverhältnisse der Vergrößerungsbereiche; und eine Einheit für partielles Multiplexieren zum Multiplexieren von Nichtdetektionsbereichen mit Ausnahme der Detektionsbereiche der Originalansichtbilder in Übereinstimmung mit einer vorgegebenen Auflösung und zum Multiplexieren der Detektionsbereiche in Übereinstimmung mit der Auflösung, die von der Auflösung der Nichtdetektionsbereiche verschieden ist, anhand der Vergrößerungsverhältnisse. PURPOSE: Multi-viewpoint image generating method and apparatus are provided to remove an unnecessary process of rearranging images after completing the images for each viewpoint when generating a multi-viewpoint image. CONSTITUTION: A multi-viewpoint image generating method comprises the following steps: obtaining more than one reference view image using a multi-viewpoint image generator(S510); generating pixels for a virtual viewpoint based on pixels on the reference view image(S520); multiplexing the pixels on the virtual viewpoint and the reference view image(S530); Interpolating the image using multiplexed neighbor pixel information(S540); and outputting the obtained final multi-viewpoint image(S550).

PURPOSE: A multiple view image content generating apparatus and a method thereof in a parallel process are provided to reduce time for generating multiple view image content by synthesizing a virtual view point image. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of image synthesizing and processing units is operated in parallel. A plurality of the image synthesizing and processing units generates a virtual point image corresponding to a virtual point. A plurality of the image synthesizing and processing units performs multiplex of the virtual point image. PURPOSE: A multi-view image content generating method and an apparatus thereof are provided to generate an image file of predetermined format and to insert the other images by using a chunk area. CONSTITUTION: A multi-view image contents generating unit generates an image file of a predetermined file format based on a selected image(S1). The device generates the chunk data based on remaining images(S2). The device inserts the generated chunk data into a chunk area of the generated PNG format file(S4). The device stores the multi-view image content in a storing unit(S5).

CONSTITUTION: An adaptive three-dimensional subtitle generator for three-dimensional images comprises the following: a variation information extraction unit(220) dividing the total image sequence into segments, and extracting variation information from the segments; a location information providing unit(210) providing location information for the three-dimensional subtitle inside each segment; and a three-dimensional subtitle generating unit(230) adaptively determining the depth of the three-dimensional subtitle based on the variation information.

PURPOSE: A digital video transmitting/receiving apparatus, a method thereof, and a digital video transmitting/receiving system are provided to reduce load of network by transmitting sub-sampling of digital video data. CONSTITUTION: A down-sampling rate determining unit(12) determines down-sampling rate corresponding to bandwidth of a transmitting network based on obtained information. A video down-sampling unit(13) down-samples a digital video of high resolution according to the down-sampling rate. A video encoding unit(14) encodes the down-sampled digital video. A video multiplexing and transmitting unit(15) multiplexes the encoded digital video. The video multiplexing and transmitting unit transmits the multiplexed digital video to a video receiving unit through transmission network.
