    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an aromatic polysulfone polymer composition having excellent chemical resistance, mechanical strength, heat-resistance and moldability, by compounding an aromatic polysulfone polymer with a specific amount of a specific polyether imide. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer composition is produced by (1) compounding (A) 100pts.wt. of an aromatic polysulfone polymer, e.g. composed of recurring unit of formula I or formula II with (B) >=1pt.wt. and =5pts.wt. and =2C aliphatic group, cycloaliphatic group, etc.) and produced by the dehydrative cyclization of a polyamic acid produced by the reaction of an ether diamine of formula III (X is carbonyl or sulfonyl group) with one or more kinds of tetracarboxylic acid dianhydrides, (2) preliminarily kneading the mixture e.g. with Henschel mixer and (3) pulverizing the kneaded mixture.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyimide resin composition excellent in melt flow, good in moldability and excellent in heat resistance, strength, etc., by mixing a polyimide having specified repeating units with a specified amount of polyphenylene sulfide. CONSTITUTION:The title resin composition is obtained by mixing 99.9-50wt.% polyimide (A) having repeating units of formula I (wherein X is carbonyl or sulfonyl, and R is a tetravalent group selected from among a 2C or higher aliphatic group, a cycloaliphatic group, a monocyclic group, a condensed polycyclic aromatic group and a noncondensed polycyclic aromatic group composed of aromatic groups bonded to each other directly or through bridging members) is mixed with 0.1-50wt.% polyphenylene sulfide (B). The resin composition can be used for electronic devices, etc. Component A can be obtained by reacting an ether-diamine of formula II with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and imidating the formed polyamic acid.

SOLUTION: A process for producing a polyhydroxycarboxylic acid by the polycondensation through dehydration of hydroxylcarboxylic acids containing at least lactic acid in an organic solvent in the presence or absence of a catalyst, wherein a hydroxycarboxylic acid containing alcohols, contained as impurities in lactic acid and having a boiling point higher than that of the reaction solvent, in an amount of at most 0.3mol% in total based on the feedstock hydroxycarboxylic acid is used as the raw material to give a polyhydroxycarboxylic acid with an inherent viscosity of at least 0.3dl/g.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aromatic polycarbonate good in reproducibility of molecular weight by measuring the deviation of the flow rate from the set value and controlling the feeds of an aqueous solution containing an alkali(ne earth) metallic base of an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a halogenated carbonyl compound, determining the residual ratio, leading the residual ratio into a correction ratio and correcting the feed rate. SOLUTION: The deviation of the flow rate from the set value is measured to control the feeds of an aqueous solution containing an alkali(ne earth) metallic base of an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a halogenated carbonyl compound. The concentration of the alkali(ne earth) metallic base of the aromatic dihydroxy compound in the aqueous phase taken out of the first vessel is measured to determine the residual ratio (b) based on the concentration of the feed solution. A correction ratio (a) is derived therefrom according to the deviation from the reference value of the residual ratio (b) and multiplied by the set flow rate for the aqueous solution containing the alkali(ne earth) metallic base of the aromatic dihydroxy compound to occasionally correct the feed rate to afford a polycarbonate in which the correction ratio (a) is determined from the residual ratio (b) by formulas I to III [(x) is the amount of a catalyst (mol% based on the aromatic dihydroxy compound); (y) is the residence time (min) in the first vessel and satisfies formula IV [(y) is >=1; (x) is >=0.0005; (xy) is >=0.5].
