Abstract:
An improved connector terminal has a profile which facilitates insertion into engagement holes on a circuit board. The terminals may be part of an assembly which includes a series of terminals arranged in a spaced-apart array. Each has a solder tail portion defined by a straight edge proximate to the centerline and a slanted edge which diagonally extends from the other side and which traverses the centerline to intersect with the first side to thereby form an acute angle at the tip of the terminal near the centerline to provide comparable positioning allowances on the opposite sides of the centerline to facilitate mounting of the terminals on a circuit board. The acute angle point is advantageous to the optical measurement of terminal intervals for the quality control.

Abstract:
Disclosed is an improvement in a locking type ejection lever (8, 9) for use in a card edge connector which comprises female receptacle structure and male plug structure integrally connected to a house (1) of a printed board (3) and a counter printed board (4) to be electrically connected to the printed board, said male plug and female receptacle structure when mated together, making electrical connections between all conductors of said printed boards. A lock mechanism for a card edge connector according to the present invention can attain dual function of locking and ejecting one printed board from the housing of the other printed board, and ejection can be performed with single easy action.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an improvement relating to a thin, applied-to-surface type of electric connector comprising a housing 1 and a plurality of terminals (9, 12) fixed thereto. Each terminal has a solder tail (8, 11) extending outward under the bottom (31) of the housing to be positioned on a selected conductor of a printed circuit board for subjecting to automatic soldering. The distance N between the ends (8A, 11A) of opposed solder tails is shorter than the maximum lateral size L of the housing 1. Both sides of the housing 1 have a chamfer 13 along its lower longitudinal part. The ends of the terminals and their receiving cavities may be slanted to hold the terminals within the housing and prevent stubbing.
Abstract:
The connector comprises a male plug (A) having pin terminals (2, 3) of two different kinds, and a female socket (B) having contacts (11) of the same kind. Each pin terminal of one kind (2) has a straight inclination (6) extending from its tip end (23) at a relatively small angle ( theta 1) whereas each pin terminal of the other kind (3) has a straight inclination (6) extending from its tip end (23) at a relatively large angle ( theta 2). Thus, the resultant insertion force of pin terminals of the one kind (2) reaches its peak value earlier than the resultant insertion force of pin terminals (3) of the other kind when the male plug (A) is inserted in the female socket (B). Advantageously, the straight inclination (6, 7) can be easily shaped with precision. This permits mass production of pin terminals (2, 3) of the same insertion force characteristics.
Abstract:
A first connector is provided with a first terminal and a first housing that has a first mating guide portion, and a second connector is provided with a second terminal and a second housing that has a second mating guide portion. The first mating guide portion includes a recessed portion into which the second mating guide portion is inserted, and an end wall portion, wherein the inside faces thereof define the lengthwise-direction outsides of the first housing in the recessed portion.
Abstract:
A socket for a PGA package can maintain high reliability of connecting condition for a long period. The socket is constructed by mounting a reinforcement plate formed with a metal plate or the like at the position where the cam member contacts the slide plate so that the slide plate, which is formed of an insulative materials such as plastic or the like, will not be deformed upon exertion of a reaction force from a plurality of lead pins of a PGA package.
Abstract:
A memory card connector includes an insulating housing defining a front receptacle area communicating with an interior cavity for receiving a memory card. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the housing and have contact portions at a rear of the cavity for engaging contacts on the memory card. A slider is movable mounted on the housing and is engageable with the memory card for movement therewith into and out of the cavity. A guide rail on the housing performs a dual function of (1) engaging the slider to guide the slider in its movement on the housing, and (2) preventing the memory card from being inserted into the cavity in an abnormal orientation.
Abstract:
A metal-shielded right angle connector includes an insulative housing H having a bottom surface 1 laid on a circuit substrate K and a recess portion 4 in a front surface 2 for receiving an associated connector, a plurality of terminals T held in the housing and a metal shield 50 provided along an inner surface of the recess portion 4. The terminals are divided into upper terminals 10 and lower terminals 20, the upper terminals and the lower terminals have solder tails 15, 26 extending in directions opposite to each other along the bottom surface by bent portions 14, 24 in the vicinity of the bottom surface of the housing, and either one of the bent portion of the upper terminals and the bent portion of the lower terinals is located on the upper surface side of the housing above the other bent portion. The solder tails of the lower terminals have a stepped configuration, which spaces them apart from the solder tails of the upper terminals to prevent solder bridging from occuring between upper and lower terminals.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an electrical connector having at least two terminals that are short-circuited to each other by the use of a continuous portion. The continuous portion is formed during the manufacturing process of the terminals, thereby simplifying short-circuiting of two or more terminals together.
