    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability for use for a long period by providing a necessary property to the capillary part without deteriorating the property of the body part. SOLUTION: After alumina powder is mixed, kneaded and formed, the water absorption ratio of the formed product is controlled between 15-30% wt.% at the first temporary firing process (S5), and the frit-adhered part of the capillary top end is steeped (S6) in the water solution of magnesium nitric acid of 0.06-0.9 mol/l and temporarily fired in the second temporary firing process (S7), and then it is fired (S8) in the hydrogen atmosphere at 1750-1900 deg.C and the average particle size at the frit sealing portion is made smaller as 20%-90% of the average particle size of the body part.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a xenon lamp-incorporated reflector that enhances heat dissipation property of a base substance body, improving adhesion with a metal member so as not to generate transformation of brazing material or the like for fixing the metal member by thermal expansion difference and reflectivity of the face of the reflector. SOLUTION: A cylindrical base substance 1 to be main part of the lamp is sintered aluminum nitride as main component and the inner space is formed as a reflector 2 in a parabolic shape. A silver-deposited film is formed through a silicon carbide film of a first film as a second film on the surface of the reflector 2. A hole portion 3 made of sapphire in disk shape for light projection is disposed on the aperture side of the reflector 2, and the periphery of the sapphire hole portion 3 is brazed with a metal fitting 4. The hole portion 3 is fixed to the base substance 1, then the metal fitting 4 is brazed aritight by a metal ring 5.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pseudo-point light source and to stably connect electrode members to a discharge tube by forming each current conductor with a pipe conductor inserted into the opening section of an alumina cylinder and connected by a connecting material and a bar-like conductor inserted into the through-hole of the pipe conductor and having a discharge electrode at the tip, and setting the diameter and length of the alumina cylinder to specific values. SOLUTION: An alumina cylinder of this high-pressure discharge lamp has a diameter of 1-6 mm 4 and the length of 6-15 mm. Each current conductor 4 is constituted of a metallic pipe conductor 7 and a cylindrical core 8 in it, and they are connected by welding at end sections. A discharge electrode 5 is provided at the tip of the core 8, and they are connected by welding or metallization connection. The pipe conductor 7 may be formed with a halide-resistant material, such as W or Mo. The core 8 is preferably formed with the same metal as that of the pipe conductor 7. This discharge lamp can be miniaturized, by connecting the pipe conductor 7 forming the current conductor 4 directly to a discharge tube 1.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate aligning work and to set accurately positional relation among a current conductor, an electrode, and a spacer, when a high-pressure discharge lamp is manufactured. SOLUTION: A composite electrode 17a has a current conductor 20, an electrode 21, and a spacer 22 as a second non-conductive member. The current conductor 20 is formed in the shape of a cylinder made of niobium having a diameter smaller than the inner diameter of a capillary 16a. One end of the electrode 21 is joined to a bottom surface of the current conductor 20 on the side not exposed to the outside of a tubular container 14a while the other end thereof is wound with a coil 23. The spacer 22 has an inner diameter smaller than the diameter of the other end of the electrode 21 and an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the capillary 16a, and is joined by metallization 24 to the bottom surface of the current conductor 20 on the side not exposed to the outside of the tubular container 14a.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower a frit seal to the appropriate position without having to adjust the temperature of the frit seal by inserting a stopper into a tubular member, and embedding the frit seal into a gap formed by the tubular member, the stopper, and an electrode member. SOLUTION: A container 14 has a cylindrical main body 20 and a disc 21. A stopper 27, through which an electrode member 17a is passed, inserted into the position in which a frit seal 26 in a capillary 16a is to be embedded. The stopper 27 is formed with a porous member, and the frit seal 26 is embedded in a gap formed by the capillary 16a, the stopper 27, and the electrode member 17a. The frit seal 26 is lowered to the appropriate position with the stopper 27. By forming the stopper 27 with the porous member, even if the frit seal 26 in an amount exceeding necessary level is embedded, the excess frit seal is absorbed with the porous member. Also even when a corrosive material is used as an ionizing luminescent material, the progress of the corrosion of the electrode member 17a will not occur.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the corrosion of frit glass caused by an illuminant material when emission vessel is used in a high pressure discharge lamp. SOLUTION: Atrunk part 1 forms the discharge space on its inside and has opening parts for inserting electrode member inserting parts 3a, 3b at both ends of the discharge space. The electrode member inserting parts 3a, 3b have fins 6a, 6b arranged between inserting parts 4a, 4b and exposed parts 5a, 5b respectively. Since heat is radiated from the vicinities of fins 6a, 6b, liquefaction of an illuminant material in through holes of electrode member inserting parts 3a, 3b is accelerated, the liquefied illuminant material is solidified before it enters an exposed part in the inner space of the trunk 1 of the frit glasses 11a, 11b. The illuminant materials 12a, 12b solidified in this manner are attached to the inside of the through holes of the electrode member inserting parts 3a, 3b. This reduces the corrosion of the frit glasses 11a, 11b caused by contacting of the liquefied illuminant materials with part the exposed in the inner space of the trunk 1 of the frit glasses 11a, 11b.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lower the cost of the title manufacture and to make its maintenance and its control easy by a method wherein a metal mold is used in common as much as possible and the number of metal molds is reduced. CONSTITUTION:Many matrix-shaped via holes are made in a green sheet 10 by using a metal mold for via-hole making. Then, out of conductors which have been buried in the via holes 12 via a conductor paste 14, the conductors used for connection of wiring patterns between the upper and lower layers are exposed to the outside as they are, and the conductors not used for the connection are covered with insulating layers 16. Consequently, only the conductors required for desired wiring patterns are selected, and the residual conductors are covered with the insulating layers 16 and set in a non-connection state. Thereby, the title manufacture can be applied to a plurality of kinds of wiring patterns.
