Abstract: It is provided a ceramic vessel 1A for a high pressure discharge lamp and for filling an ionizable luminous substance and a starter gas in the inner space of the vessel. The discharge vessel 1A has a tubular central luminous portion 2A, and a pair of tubular end portions 3 protruding from both ends of said central luminous portion, respectively. Each of the end portions 3 has a maximum wall thickness "l" of 0.5 times or larger and 0.9 times or smaller of the wall thickness "t" of the central luminous portion 2A. A ceramic discharge vessel is thereby provided enabling for improving the luminous efficiency of the high pressure discharge lamp.

Abstract: The inner shape of the body part in a hollow ceramic molded article constituting a precursor of a discharge vessel is precisely controlled so as to make a large improvement in the function of a discharge vessel formed by baking the hollow ceramic molded article. With the use of a core for molding having a wax molded article or molded article made of waxy substance, a slurry for molding is injected into a forming mold and cured, whereby a hollow ceramic molded article with a controlled inner shape of the body part is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the wax molded article or molded article made of waxy substance. The hollow ceramic molded article is baked to produce a discharge vessel.

Abstract: A process to produce a ceramic tube for a metallic halide lamp, comprising the steps of forming an integrally molded body (1) composed of an electrode member-inserting portion (1a) and an annular portion (1b) located around an outer periphery of the electrode member-inserting portion, inserting the annular portion of the integrally molded body into an open end portion of a molded cylindrical tubular body (3) in a state that each of the integrally molded body and the molded tubular body is used as molded or after being calcined, thereby forming an assembled body, and firing the assembled body, thereby forming an integrally fired body composed of the electrode member-inserting portion and the annular portion. The annular portion and the tubular body are sintered to each other by firing in a state that radial press fitting forces act between the annular portion and the tubular body.

Die ersten Räume 30 sind geschlossene Räume, die nicht mit der ersten Hauptoberfläche in Verbindung stehen.
