Abstract: La invencion se refiere a una composicion cosmética para la primera etapa de una operacion para reformacion permanente de material queratinoso, en particular el cabello, que consiste en reducir los enlaces de disulfuro de queratina, caracterizado en que comprende al menos un agente activo adecuado para la reduccion de los enlaces de disulfuro de queratina, al menos un agente basificante seleccionado de ornitina, lisina y arginina, y al menos un polímero cationico que contiene grupos de amina primaria, secundaria y terciaria o grupos de amonio cuaternario en la cadena principal. La invencion también se refiere a un proceso para el tratamiento de material queratinoso, en particular el cabello, con el proposito de obtener una reformacion permanente de las puntas, en particular en la forma de cabello ondulado permanente, el proceso está caracterizado porque incluye los siguientes pasos: (1) se aplica una composicion como se define anteriormente al material queratinoso que es tratado, el medio (rizadores de pelo o biduquís) necesario para colocar el material queratinoso bajo tension mecánica se implementa antes, durante o después de la aplicacion, (ii) el material queratinoso así tratado luego se enjuaga, (iii) se aplica una composicion oxidante al material queratinoso así enjuagado, el material queratinoso tratado se separa del medio para colocar bajo tension usado en el paso (i) antes o después de la aplicacion de la composicion oxidante, (iv) y, finalmente se enjuaga nuevamente el material queratinoso.

Abstract: A hair treatment compsn. comprises an insoluble structuring agent (I), in the form of solid particles, in a cosmetic medium, such that the compsn. has the appearance of a deformable solid in which the medium is enclosed. (I) can be removed from the hair by a diluent. Also claimed are: the use of the compsn. for treating keratin fibres; a method for treating (specifically dyeing, bleaching, perming, washing and/or conditioning) keratin fibres, by applying the compsn. then rinsing; the use of (I) for giving a hair treatment compsn. the appearance of a deformable solid; and a method for delivering an active agent (A) to keratin fibres, by encapsulating (A) in a deformable solid as described above, applying at least part of the solid to the fibres in presence of water, to release (A), and removing (I) by rinsing.

Abstract: A process is claimed for the determn. of the ionic state (-), the ionic state (+) and the neutral ionic state of the surface of keratin fibres, esp. human hair. The neutral state is defined as the condition of natural hair which has not been subjected to any treatment to modify the ionic charge. A sample of the hair to be examined is treated with a soln. at an acid pH contg. an acid or basic dye, and any change in colour of the soln. is determined. The test is simple and can be carried out rapidly by non-technical personnel. The test is useful in beauty concelling for determining the state of the hair prior to recommendation of suitable cosmetic treatment.
