    Abstract: This invention relates to a metallurgical process for the production and/or treatment of at least one metal or ore in a reactor (1, 3), from which a waste gas stream loaded with molten particles and/or vaporous constituents is discharged via a waste gas conduit (7) and subjected to an aftertreatment by supplying at least one cooling gas or cooling gas mixture. On the side of the waste gas conduit (7) facing the reactor (1, 3) a cooling gas or cooling gas mixture (9), whose temperature is lower than that of the waste gas stream, is injected into the waste gas conduit (7) with a high velocity. Furthermore, this invention relates to a corresponding plant.

    Abstract: In accordance with the invention, refining raw materials containing organic constituents, such as solids containing oil and/or bitumen, in particular oil or tar sand or oil shale, is effected with the following steps: - supplying the raw materials to a reactor and expelling fuel gases at a temperature of about 300 to 1000°C, preferably about 500 to 800°C, introducing the solids left in the reactor including the non-evaporated fractions of heavy hydrocarbons into a furnace, burning the heavy hydrocarbons left in the solids in the furnace at a temperature of 600 to 1500°C, preferably 700 to 900°C, recirculating hot solids from the furnace into the reactor, wherein the oxidizing atmosphere of the furnace is separated from the atmosphere of the reactor by means of a blocking device.

    Abstract: For producing fuel gas and for carrying out a metallurgical process, carbonaceous materials, e.g. coal or biomass, are reacted with an oxygen-containing gas in a first process stage to obtain a fuel gas containing carbon monoxide, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and/or steam, wherein the fuel gas obtained is cooled to a temperature of 300 to 600 °C, preferably 350 to 450 °C, and subsequently subjected to a solids separation, and wherein in a second process stage the fuel gas is charged to at least one burner of the metallurgical process. The fuel gas from the solids separation is directly supplied to the at least one burner of the second process stage, wherein after cooling the temperature of the fuel gas is maintained within the range from 300 to 600 °C, preferably 350 to 450 °C, by minimizing the heat losses and/or heat supply.
