Abstract: Un procedimiento en un sistema de comunicaciones inalámbricas, comprendiendo: transmitir un mensaje de solicitud de datos llamado mensaje DRC desde una estación móvil (6) hasta una estación base (4); y recibir datos en la estación móvil (6) a una velocidad de transferencia de datos que está basada en una velocidad de transferencia de datos de transmisión solicitada en el mensaje DRC, caracterizado porque el mensaje DRC se transmite mediante el uso de una referencia absoluta y una referencia relativa, donde la referencia absoluta identifica la velocidad de transferencia de datos de transmisión solicitada y se transmite periódicamente, y donde la referencia relativa se transmite en cada ranura de tiempo entre las transmisiones de las referencias absolutas e indica si la velocidad de transferencia de datos de transmisión de una próxima ranura de tiempo es mayor, o menor que, o igual que la velocidad de transferencia de datos de transmisión de una ranura de tiempo anterior.

Abstract: A system ( 100 ) and various methods and apparatus for efficient communications of data across various protocol layers are disclosed. The system ( 100 ) includes a base station ( 101 ) for receiving radio link protocol (RLP) packets of data over a physical layer protocol. A processor ( 401 ) is configured for passing, to a higher level protocol in network ( 105 ), the received in-sequence RLP packets of data, from the accumulated data in a re-sequencing buffer ( 480 ), without waiting for receiving retransmission of a missing RLP packet of data when the accumulated RLP packets of data exceeds an amount of data threshold without waiting for an elapsed time of an abort timer to exceed an abort period of time threshold.

Aparatul conţine un transmiţător în interiorul fiecărei staţii de bază (4), pentru transmiterea semnalelor (50) legăturii directe la staţia mobilă (6), un receptor în interiorul staţiei mobile (6), astfel dispus încât să genereze măsurări C/I ale semnalelor (50) legăturii directe dintre un controler (76) îninteriorul staţiei mobile (6), amplasat pentru arecepţiona măsurările C/I, controlerul (76) fiind dispus astfel încât să selecteze o staţiede bază (4) selectată din cel puţin o staţie de bază (4), pe baza măsurătorilor de C/I, ?i un transmiţător în interiorul staţiei mobile (6), care transmite un mesaj cerut de date la staţia de bază (4) selectată, transmiţătorul din interiorul staţiei de bază (4) selectate transmite date, la un debit de date potrivit cu mesajul cerut de date.

Abstract: In a data communication system capable of variable rate transmission, high rate packet data transmission improves utilization of the forward link and decreases the transmission delay. Data transmission on the forward link is time multiplexed and the base station transmits at the highest data rate supported by the forward link at each time slot to one mobile station. The data rate is determined by the largest C/I measurement of the forward link signals as measured at the mobile station. Upon determination of a data packet received in error, the mobile station transmits a NACK message back to the base station. The NACK message results in retransmission of the data packet received in error. The data packets can be transmitted out of sequence by the use of sequence number to identify each data unit within the data packets.

Abstract: Synchronized broadcast transmits a same broadcast content using a same waveform from multiple transmitters. Transmitters each apply a same spreading code for broadcast transmissions. In a spread-spectrum communication system having a time division multiplexed forward link, a synchronized broadcast transmission is inserted into a broadcast slot. One embodiment employs an Orthogonal Frequency Divisional Multiplex (OFDM) waveform for the synchronized broadcast. An OFDM receiver is then used to process the received synchronized broadcast transmission. An alternate embodiment implements a broadcast Pseudo-random Noise (PN) code for use by multiple transmitters. An equalizer is then employed to estimate the synchronized broadcast transmission.
