Abstract: Features of the present disclosure implementing techniques that allow the user equipment (UE) to autonomously (e.g., without the network control) manage timing synchronization of a plurality of carriers using sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS) from one or more other UEs in order to identify a synchronization source. A synchronization source associated with a frequency carrier from a set of frequency carriers may be selected according to one or more SLSS sync source selection techniques or rules. For instance, the described solution may be utilized to enable UEs to autonomously perform V2X carrier aggregation (CA). In some examples, the synchronization carrier(s) to be searched may be determined based on the SLSS capability of the UE (e.g., transmission and reception of SLSS capabilities of the UE).

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to facilitating multiple hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmissions. For example, the teachings herein may be used for multiple HARQ transmissions in vehicle-to anything (V2X) communication or some other type of communication. The disclosure relates in some aspects to sending information indicative of the number of scheduling assignment (SA) symbols being sent by a device in conjunction with HARQ transmissions. The disclosure relates in some aspects to reserving resources for multiple HARQ transmissions and communicating an indication of the reserved HARQ resources.

Abstract: A transmitting UE in a device-to-device (D2D) communication may identify a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence for a D2D transmission based at least in part on a subset of bits of a sidelink control information (SCI) transmission. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be selected such that the bits have sufficient variability to reduce the likelihood that multiple UEs may use the same DMRS sequence. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be all or a portion of a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for the SCI.

The described aspects include receiving, at a user equipment (UE), an alternative resource pool information signal from a network entity; selecting, at the UE, a first control resource from a first frequency portion of the control resource pool based on the alternative resource pool information signal; transmitting, at the UE, the first control resource from the first frequency portion of the control resource pool; selecting, at the UE, a second control resource from a second frequency portion of the control resource pool based on the first control resource; and transmitting, at the UE, the second control resource from the second frequency portion of the control resource pool.
