    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communications device may transmit, to a second communications, a request to update a phase shifter configuration. The first communications device may receive, from the second communications device and in response to the request, a response accepting the request to update the phase shifter configuration. The first communications device may then transmit, to the second communications device, an uplink transmission in accordance with the updated phase shifter configuration based on receiving the response. The first communications device may include a first user equipment (UE) and the second communications device may include a second UE or a base station.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device can expedite beam scans for beam management. The wireless communication device can perform a beam scan using a first beam reference signal of a synchronization signal block (SSB) and a second beam reference signal associated with a physical broadcast control channel (PBCH) of the SSB. For each synchronization signal block (SSB) index (e.g., transmit beam) monitored by the wireless communication device, the wireless communication device can obtain a respective beam quality metric on each of two or more respective receive beams using at least the first and second beam reference signals.     Abstract: In embodiments, a base station may send to a user equipment (UE) a P3 beam management (BM) channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) having two ports, and may receive from the UE a P3 BM report in response. The P3 BM report may include a proactive UE beam switch indication and a CSF report corresponding to the best UE beam determined by a UE based on the P3 BM CSI-RS. The base station may determine whether the P3 BM report includes an indication that the UE will perform a beam switch from a first UE beam to a second UE beam, and may determine a UE beam switch slot during which the UE will perform the beam switch. Starting at the beam switch slot, the base station may send a physical downlink shared data channel (PDSCH) transmission to the UE using the adjusted downlink transmission parameters.

    Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide sub-grouping of paging groups of user equipment (UEs) based at least in part on one or more parameters associated with a UE, such as a UE type of the UE or a measured channel condition at the UE. A base station may assign the UE to a paging sub-group based at least in part on the information associated with the one or more parameters. In some aspects, the base station may determine paging transmission parameters for the UE based at least in part on the information associated with the one or more parameters, such as a paging early indication (PEI) location, a beam where a PEI and/or a paging message is to be transmitted, a number of repetitions for a paging occasion, or the like.
