    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for setting a resolution for an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) of a user equipment (UE) based on a modulated reference signal received from a base station (BS) during a first (for example, initial) symbol period of a slot. In one aspect, the first symbol period of the slot and a cyclic prefix (CP) of the first symbol period may be relatively longer in time than other symbol periods and other CPs of the slot and, in some implementations, the BS may transmit a configuration to the UE allocating a portion of the first symbol period for the transmission of the modulated reference signal. The UE may demodulate the modulated reference signal, calibrate an automatic gain control (AGC) of the UE, and set the resolution of the ADC of the UE based on the modulated reference signal.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a second UE and using a first fast Fourier transform (FFT) window configuration, a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) signal associated with a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) signal. The UE may identify, based at least in part on the reception of the PSCCH signal, one or more values of one or more parameters estimated from the PSCCH signal. The UE may select, based at least in part on the one or more values of the one or more parameters, a second FFT window configuration to be used to receive the PSSCH signal. The UE may receive, from the second UE, the PSSCH signal using the second FFT window configuration. Numerous other aspects are described.

    Abstract: Aspects of disclosure relate to beam steering at a multi-antenna device. The device receives an activation signal to activate one or more input ports of a Butler matrix and outputs signals from all output ports of the Butler matrix based on activation of the one or more input ports. The signals output from the output ports have varying phase shifts relative to each other. Moreover, the device phase shifts the signals output from the output ports via a plurality of phase shifters respectively coupled to the output ports. The phase shifted signals have further varying phase shifts relative to each other and a phase difference between adjacent phase shifted signals. Each one of a plurality of antenna elements at the device receives a phase shifted signal from an associated phase shifter and outputs a beam based on the phase shifted signal received from the associated phase shifter.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications networks may support carrier aggregation such that a user equipment (UE) may operate on both a primary cell using a first frequency range and a secondary cell using a second frequency range. In some cases, a beam failure associated with one or more beams of the secondary cell may be identified by the UE, and a beam failure recovery procedure may be triggered. The UE may send a beam failure recovery request message in an uplink data field of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) message to a base station of the primary cell. In response to the beam failure recovery request message, the base station of the primary cell may transmit a response to the UE which includes beam failure mitigation information.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support a two-step reporting procedure for demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configuration adjustment. A base station may transmit to a user equipment (UE) control information indicating a subset of DMRS configurations to be addressed for DMRS configuration selection and reporting. As a part of channel state feedback (CSF) evaluation procedures the UE may identify link quality characteristics and spectral efficiency metrics corresponding to the subset of DMRS configurations and determine a preference for a configuration change from the currently used DMRS configuration (which is represented by DMRS configuration determined from channel state information (CSI) reference slot) to a DMRS configuration of the subset based on the link spectral efficiency metrics comparison. The UE may transmit to the base station, a report comprising an indication of a UE request for the configuration change and in response, the base station may schedule the UE to report one or more selected DMRS configurations most convenient for the UE channel and reception conditions.
