Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to select a set of beams to generate energy in a first coverage region (e.g., an out-of-coverage (OOC) region) to reduce the effects of a distorted electric field. The UE may select the set of beams based on gain parameters associated with a set of antennas at the UE, where the gain parameters are determined for communications in a second coverage region (e.g., an in-coverage (INC) region). In some examples, the UE may use iterative techniques to select the beams. In some examples, the UE may select the set of beams based on calculations using a set of codebook beams associated with the second coverage region. In some examples, the UE may additionally select the set of beams for communications in the second coverage region.

Abstract: Example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for wireless communication configured for estimating a channel using a set of predefined sensing beams to measure reference signals. Estimating the channel may include generating an N×N channel correlation matrix, where N is a number of antenna elements in the antenna array. The implementations further include generating a set of dynamic beam weights to maximize a reference signal received power (RSRP) based on the estimated channel. The set of dynamic beam weights may be based on an eigenvector of the channel correlation matrix. Additionally, the implementations further include applying the set of dynamic beam weights to an antenna array.

The first set of beams corresponds to a first set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) of a serving cell and the second set of beams corresponds to a second set of SSBs of the serving cell. The UE may transmit a message indicating channel state feedback (CSF) including either a first power metric for the first set of SSBs or both the first power metric and a second power metric for the second set of SSBs. The power metric(s) included in the CSF may be based on a first refinement status for the first set of SSBs as well as a second refinement status for the second set of SSBs or the second power metric satisfying a threshold.

In some systems, a wireless device may detect, using a sensor at the wireless device, one or more locations at which human tissue may be present within a coverage area of the sensor. The wireless device may select, from a set of beams, a beam and a corresponding transmit power. The wireless device may select the beam and the corresponding transmit power based on the detection of the one or more locations at which the human tissue is present within the coverage area of the sensor and a radio frequency coverage area of the beam. The wireless device may transmit uplink data using the selected beam and the selected transmit power.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, control signaling indicating a capability of the UE to apply an amplitude control procedure to one or more antenna elements for beamforming and indicating that the UE is applying the amplitude control procedure. The UE may receive a control message scheduling transmission of an uplink message. The UE may generate a signal including the uplink message using the amplitude control procedure, which may adjust one or more amplitudes of the signal. The UE may transmit the signal via the one or more antenna elements. In some cases, UE may indicate an amount of power loss in the signal based on the amplitude control procedure, and the base station may transmit downlink transmissions using a lower order modulation and coding scheme or an applied power boost to compensate for the power loss.
