Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for access class barring (ACB) operations for device-to-device (D2D proximity service communications. An ACB parameter may be defined and assigned to UEs that is associated with discovery or communication operations for normal and high priority user equipments (UEs). The UE may identify a resource for D2D proximity service communications and, when not barred, send a radio resource control (RRC) connection message requesting the available resource. An establishment cause may be defined and included in the RRC connection request message that corresponds to the ACB parameter.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for wireless communication, and more specifically to advertising discovery information, relaying discovery information, and to the secure relay of discovery information in wireless networks. Various frame structures are provided for such transmitting and relaying of discovery information. According to certain aspects of the present disclosure, security is provided for relaying discovery information. According to certain aspects of the present disclosure, compensation may be provided to a device that relays discovery information (e.g., when the relaying results in a transaction).
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines at least one time-frequency resource among resources of a cellular communication system to be used for device-to-device (D2D) communication, identifies a propagated start point of a first portion of the at least one time-frequency resource, and begins transmission of the D2D signal from a transmission start point. The transmission start point is based on the propagated start point and a cellular communication system downlink timing offset to the propagated start point. The apparatus also identifies a propagated end point of a last portion of the at least one time-frequency resource and ends transmission of the D2D signal at a transmission end point. The transmission end point is based on the propagated end point and a cellular communication system downlink timing advance to the propagated end point.
Abstract:
A method, a computer program product, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be equipped to obtain one or more application identifiers from one or more applications on a wireless device, generate a super identifier (SID) having elements corresponding to the one or more applications and a base that identifies one or more common properties of the one or more applications, and broadcast the SID during one or more peer discovery slots allocated for the wireless device. In another example, a UE may be equipped to receive the SID broadcast by another UE, determine a match between at least one of the one or more common properties in the base, and determine whether an element associated with one or more applications is present in the SID.
Abstract:
An apparatus being a target UE, an initiator UE, or an MME. In one configuration, the apparatus is an initiator UE. The initiator UE determines (812) a network (IP) address of a target UE based on a target expression (i.e. set of characters that a UE broadcasts to help other UEs to discover it), sends (814) a connection request (including target and initiator expressions, and network address or MME address of initiator UE), sends (818) information associated with the target UE to an MME serving the initiator UE (e.g. PDN connection request comprising target UE and initiator UE expressions), and receives (824), from the MME serving the initiator UE, one or more parameters (e.g. one or more security keys and other configurations values) for communicating with the target UE (e.g. in an activate direct bearer context request message comprising a target and initiator UE expressions, the MME of the target UE, and the security key or parameters, usually a result of the negotiation between the MME of the initiator UE and the MME of the target UE). Further, the initiator UE communicates (834) with the target UE based on the one or more parameters (e.g. via a P2P or D2D communication link).
Abstract:
A method apparatus, processor, and computer program product for wireless communication, including employing a communication interface to obtain a binding update message from a mobile node (MN). A data process is employed to analyze the binding update message for a network address of a corresponding node (CN). A communication interface is employed to initiate a long-life secure association between the CN and a network agent serving the MN if the binding update message contains the network address of the CN, wherein the long-life secure association enables the MN and CN to participate in a route optimized (RO) mobile communication session. The method may include employing a data processor to generate a binding cache entry for the network entity or a network component serving the network entity, wherein the binding cache entry includes a security key that facilitates a route optimized communication session with the network entity or the network component.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods for detecting a routing loop between at least two home agents utilizing the mobile internet protocol (MIPv6) standard. In a first method, the home agent sends a test message to the last care of address associated with a mobile node and receives a reply if there is no loop. In a second method, the home agent parses a packet and checks if the address of any of the inner headers matches the address of the home agent to find a loop between home agents.
Abstract:
Aspects describe spectrum authorization, access control, and configuration parameters validation. Devices in an ad-hoc or peer-to-peer configuration can utilize a licensed spectrum if the devices are authorized to use the spectrum, which can be determined automatically. Aspects relate to distribution of authorization tickets by an authorization server as a result of validating a device's credentials and services to which the device is entitled. An exchange and verification of authorization tickets can be performed by devices as a condition for enabling a validated wireless link using the spectrum.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate obtaining an Internet Protocol (IP) address of a node with multiple IP addresses using address redirection in a wireless communication environment. A wireless communication component can retrieve a previously registered IP address corresponding to the node from an Authentication, Accounting, and Authorization / Home Subscriber Server (AAA/HSS). Further, a reverse query of a Domain Name Server (DNS) and a forward query of the DNS can be performed. The reverse query can be constructed based upon the previously registered IP address of the node and can resolve a name (e.g., string, …). Further, the forward query can be formed based upon the name and can return a differing IP address of the node.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE), e.g., a vehicle in a group of platooning vehicles configured for wireless communications, may identify a travel direction of the group of platooning vehicles. The UE may identify a set of time-frequency radio resources allocated to the travel direction. The UE may perform inter-vehicle communications with one or more neighboring vehicles of the group of platooning vehicles using the set of time-frequency radio resources.
