Abstract:
591308 A mask (10) to provide a supply of pressurized air to the entrance of the airways of a patient, comprising a frame (20) and an interfacing structure (30), the interfacing structure including a clip portion joined to a cushioning component (32). The frame is more rigid than the clip portion and the clip portion is more rigid than the cushioning component.
Abstract:
An adjustable forehead support (812) for a mask assembly is disclosed. The forehead support has a frame connector as part of a mask frame. A forehead cushion (860) is mounted to the frame connector and can move in a generally linearly between a retracted and an extended position with respect to the frame connector. An adjustment knob (840) is mounted to the frame connector, the knob including a threaded shaft that is engaged with an internally threaded tube provided to the forehead cushion support such that turning the adjustment knob causes the forehead cushion support to be moved between the retracted and extended positions. Position markings (885, 886) are provided to the frame connector and / or the adjustment knob to indicate a position of the forehead cushion support.
Abstract:
A face mask assembly for supplying breathable gas to a wearer includes a mask frame 112, a facial cushion 16 attached to the mask frame 112, and a forehead support. The forehead support includes a mounting receiver 120 defining an arc shaped channel and attached to the mask frame, and an arc shaped elongate bar which is received within the channel of the receiver and can be moved between a retracted and extended position as a pinion gear 154 attached to a turnable adjustment knob 152 and engaged with a gear rack on the bar is rotated by turning the knob. A forehead cushion assembly 50, 52, 54, 122 is either fixedly or pivotably attached to the distal end of the bar.
Abstract:
An interfacing structure is arranged to cooperate with a frame to contact with the skin of a patient. The interfacing structure includes a clip portion joined to a cushioning component. The frame is more rigid than the clip portion and the clip portion is more rigid than the cushioning component.
Abstract:
A cushioning component for use with a mask is constructed of foam material. A patient contacting surface, that is adapted to contact a patient, in use, has a rounded cross sectional profile and a base surface opposed to the patient contacting surface.
Abstract:
A forehead support (12) for a mask assembly (10), comprising a frame connector (20) provided to a mask frame (14), a forehead cushion (16) support movably mounted to the frame connector (20) for generally linear movement between retracted and extended positions with respect to the frame connector (20), and an adjustment knob (40) movably mounted to the frame connector (20) and threadably engaged with the forehead cushion support (60) such that turning movement of the adjustment knob (40) causes the forehead cushion support (60) to be moved between the retracted and extended positions, wherein the adjustment knob (40) includes a resilient prong (54) having a ratchet bump (56), the ratchet bump (56) adapted to selectively engage a series of ridges (74) provided to the frame connector (20) to provide indexed incremental adjustment.
