    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the productivity and the quality of the product by composing the title element of a compd. having at least 2 unsaturated cycloacetal groups per molecule, a compd. having 2 mercapto groups per molecule and a methacrylate compd. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head element is sealed with the cross-linking product of a mixture consisting of a compd. having at least 2 unsaturated cycloacetal groups per molecule, a compd. having at least 2 mercapto groups per molecule and a filler or of the compds. and filler and a methacrylate compd. Although the mixing ratio of the acetal compd. to the mercapto compd. is not specially restricted, 0.25-1.5 equivalents of the mercapto compd. is preferably mixed with 1 equivalent of the acetal compd. in consideration of development of rancidity and the physical properties. Besides, the sum of the number of the unsaturated cycloacetal groups and the number of the mercapto groups is most preferably regulated to at least 5. Consequently, the productivity and resistance to heat and moisture are improved and the yield of magnetic head elements is also increased.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a spherical toner contg. electrophotographic toner constituents by stirring and mixing a resin and a medium contg. the electrophotographic toner constituents at temps. at or above their softening point and melting point and then, removing the medium. CONSTITUTION:A resin and a medium contg. electrophotographic toner constituents are stirred and mixed at temps. at or above the softening or melting points of the resin and the medium, and then, the medium is removed to obtain a spherical toner contg. said toner constituents separated from the medium. The resin for forming such a toner is not specially limited, and the forms of said resin may be any of blocks, spheres, plates, powders, etc. As the medium, thermoplastic resins, liquid polymers, and polymer solns. imcompatible with the thermoplastic resin used for the toner are enumerated. It is essential that both resins are incompatible at or above the m.ps. and softening points of them, and as such media, polyolefin wax, etc., and high-viscous low-molecular materials, such as glycerin, can be used. A spherical toner can be obtained by treating the resin and the toner constituents with it and removing it.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A polyolefin resin and a polyoxyethylene resin are mixed with stirring at a temperature higher than their softening points, then they are separated to produce fine particles which are arbitrarily controlled in their sizes and distribution, having substantially spherical shape and dense structure. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefin resin and a medium subsance of the formula (R, R' are H, C1-12 alkyl; R'' is H, methyl, ethyl; n is 20 or more) are thoroughly mixed at a temperature higher than their melting or softening points with stirring. Then, a low-boiling organic compound which does not dissolve or swell the polyolefin resin, but dissolve the medium substance and/or water are used to dissolve an remove the medium substance for removal to obtain fine particles of less than 1,000mum and almost sphere shape of less than 1.1 at the ratio of major to minor axises. The appropriate combination of both resins inviscosity difference, interfacial tension and stirring power enable arbitrary control in particle size and distribution.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the titled elastomer having improved performance in a good slurry state from ethylene and an α-olefin economically, by coating a solid catalytic component of a Ziegler catalyst with a specific high polymer material.
    CONSTITUTION: First, (A) a solid catalytic component (containing Ti, Cl, and, if necessary, Mg, and Si) is coated with (B) a high polymer material (preferably polystyrene), ethylene is copolymerized with an α-olefin in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst consisting of the coated component A and usually (C) an organoaluminum compound, to give the desired elastomerl. For example, to coat the component A with the component b, a film of the component B is formed on the component A by plasma polymerization, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To produce economically a high-performance thermoplastic elastomer, by forming, first, an isotactic polypropylene and, then, a propylene/ethylene random copolymer in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst under a specified condition.
    CONSTITUTION: Propylene is polymerized or copolymerized in a 3W4C hydrocarbon solvent by use of such a high-activity catalyst as to provide more than 50kg polymer per g Ti in catalyst to obtain 5W50wt% isotactic polypropylene. Subsequently, at a reaction temperature ≤50°C, ethylene is added to the above polymerization product system to obtain 50W95wt% ethylene/propylene random copolymer, propylene content 5W60%, limiting viscosity 1.5W15 (in decalin at 135°C). Next, the solvent phase of the slurry in the polymerization system is evaporated without contacting the resulting polymer with at least one member selected from an alcohol and a 5C or higher hydrocarbon. Thus, a thermoplastic elastomer is produced in one step.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare ethylenic polymer having an improved otpical properties safely and economically by carrying out a high-pressure polymerization reaction in the presence of an antistatic agent in the polymer system. CONSTITUTION:Polymerization reactions are carried out in the presence of an antistatic agent in the polymer system when ethylenic polymer is prepared from ethylene or a mixture of ethylene and a monomer which is polymerizable with ethylene at a pressure of 500-3500kg/cm in a tank reactor or tubular reactor. The mechanism in which the antistatic agent prevents ethylenic polymer from adherting and accumulating to the wall of the reactor is considered that the antistatic agent vanishes static electricity which is generated by a high-speed stream of a mixture of ethylene and ethylenic polymer having a low electric conductivity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a polyethylene resin composition having excellent environmental stress cracking resistance, and useful for blow molding and extrusion molding, by mixing an ethylene polymer having low molecular weight and high density with another ethylene polymer having high molecular weight and low density. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition having an MI of 0.05-2.0 g/10 min. and a density of 0.930-0.960 g/cm prepared by mixing (A) 10-65 wt% of an ethylene copolymer having an intrinsic viscosity of 2.5-8 dl/g, a density of 0.91-0.95 g/cm , and the number of branches per 1000 skeleton carbon atoms of >= 2, and uniform branching degree distribution, obtained by the polymerization of ethylene and a >= 4C alpha-olefin, and (B) 90-35 wt% of an ethylene polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of = 0.955 g/cm , obtained by the polymerization of ethylene or the copolymerization of ethylene and an alpha-olefin. The difference between the densities of the component A and component B is pref. >= 0.01, and the ratio of the intrinsic viscosities of (A) to (B) is pref. >= 1.5.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the solder paste which is not decomposed while preserved in coexistence with the solder metal, does not generate the ionic halogen, is sufficiently decomposed, and is excellent in the solder wettability by using the prescribed activator in the solder paste. SOLUTION: In the solder paste, the flux composition in which the halide of the benzil compound having the substituent with the alkyl chain whose carbon number is >=10 is used as the activator. Any benzil halide with the alkyl chain whose carbon number is >=10 may be acceptable so long as the bonding between the alkyl chain and the benzil halogenite is chemically stable, and bromine or chlorine is preferable as halogen. As for the solder powder which is the main component of the composition, the grain size of 5-30μm, 20-50μm, 30-70μm, etc., is used though the grain size is different by the application. The metal composition, for example, includes the eutectic solder composition of 63Sn/37Pb mainly, together with 62Sn/36Pb/2Ag, 62.6Sn/37Pb/0.4Ag, etc.
