Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in data due to a wobble by recording address information only on one side wall between two walls forming a groove with the wobble and providing a discretely arranged address area and a data area held between two walls not wobbled. SOLUTION: Each frame is divided to 46 pieces of segments SEG0-SEG45, and the segment SEG0 of the top part of the segment is made an address segment, and the SEG1-SEG45 are made data segments. The information such as address, etc., is recorded by so-called single-side wobble performing the wobble only on one side wall between two walls forming the groove. The data are recorded on the data segments SEG1-SEG45, and the address information, etc., by the wobble aren't recorded. Thus, the deterioration in a regenerative signal of the main data due to a light quantity change and a disturbance in the polarization direction of light is prevented, and an S/N ratio is improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the jitters in the time axial direction of a wobble signal corresponding to a joint part of '1' and '0' of address information. SOLUTION: The biphase modulated address information ADM is frequency modulated, and a groove part on a magneto-optical disk is wobbled corresponding to a modulated signal, and the modulated signal is recorded as a groove wobble. The groove wobble is made four waves at the time of the '1' per one bit (biphase one bit) of the address information ADM, and is made three waves at the time of the '0'. The amplitude of this groove wobble is changed according to the frequency of the modulated signal, and the tilt of the groove wobble at a zero cross point corresponding to the joint part of the '1' and '0' of the address information ADM is made not to be changed. The jitters of the wobble signal in the time axial direction corresponding to the joint part of the '1' and '0' of the address information ADM are reduced remarkably, and the address information is obtained excellently.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-capacity recording in recording scanning for a recording medium in which circulating tracks having data area on the land and the groove are alternately formed at each circulating track by switching alternately tracking control to each center of the land and the groove at each circulating track. SOLUTION: An L/G alternate type RAM disk is constituted by being formed so that the groove GB and the land LD alternately appears every circulation with the progress of the track in the circumferential direction. A solid-line arrow SSPR which proceeds spirally with the laser spot LSP as the starting point shows the locus of the recording/reproducing scan of the laser spot LSP for an L/G alternate type RAM disk. The SSPR proceeds through the center of the groove GB or the land LD and the scan by means of the laser spot LSP proceeds in the just tracking condition for the groove GB or the land LD. By this a recording/reproducing system correspondable to large-capacity recording can be constituted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium which is large in capacity and high in transfer rate by forming double spiral-shaped circulating tracks having data areas on a groove and a land, setting the center-to-center interval between the land snd the groove at about one-half of the laser spot diameter. SOLUTION: A groove GA and a land LD are formed in a double spiral shape and both as data recording tracks. In the figure, the black portion of the spot corresponding to the servo area ARs is a servopit; the shaded portion of the data area ARd is the data track formed by the groove GB; and the unshaded portion is the data track formed by the land LD. Both the groove GD and the land LD are simultaneously applied with reproducing scanning using a laser spot LSP. By this, compared with the disk in which the data track is formed by either the land LD or the groove GB, the data recording capacity is enlarged more than twice and the data transfer rate is speeded.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect the clock pit of a servo byte segment even when the data recorded in a data segment are not modulated. CONSTITUTION:The one round of an optical disk is divided into a plurality of segments and the segments are classified into a servo byte section and data section. In the servo byte section, clock pits are recorded so that a change can be obtained in the highest RF signal level by forming two pits, etc. A unique detection circuit 28 detects the clock pits. A PLL lock detection circuit 32 detects the locked state of a PLL circuit 27 and, when the circuit 27 is in a locked state, turns off a switch 29. When the circuit 27 is in an unlocked state, the circuit 32 turns on the switch 29. Therefore, the counter 26 of the circuit 27 is reset by means of a load pulse outputted from the circuit 28 in corresponding to the clock pits when the circuit 27 is unlocked.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a data detection by applying partial response PR (1, 1) and using same phase clocks of a recording during a reproducing. CONSTITUTION:Recording data Din are made into NRZI data by a preencoder 4 and are recorded on a magneto-optical disk 100. The reproduced RF signals from a disk 100 are clamped by a clamping circuit 13 for every segment, transformed into digital signals by an A/D converter 14 and are supplied to a phase shifting circuit 15. When a switch 19 is switched to an (a) side and a three value detecting circuit 17 of PR (1, 1) is used, the data phase is shifted for 180 degrees by the circuit 15, the data are supplied to the circuit 17 through an equalizer 16 and a data detection is performed. When the switch 19 is switched to a (b) side and an NRZ two value detecting circuit 18 is used, the data phase is not shifted by the circuit 15, the data are supplied to the circuit 18 and a data detection is performed. Since the same clock DCLK is used during a recording and a reproducing, an effective design of an LSI is provided.

When information is reproduced, a light beam projects on the rotating recording medium and normal reproduction and seek operation are performed. Since an output I of a subtractor 21C indicates the seek acceleration, this seek acceleration I is com pared with a maximum acceleration X of an optical disk device by a compara tor 21D, and the gray code is regarded as defective in the case of I>X. In this case, a selector 11 is controlled to reuse an output B of data latched in a latch circuit 17 instead of new data, and the seek speed signal which is quick ly changed by the defect is prevented from being outputted. Thus, the seek speed signal is always properly supplied to perform the stable access operation.
