SOLUTION: A pick-up 11 emits information light and reference light for recording on an arbitrary position of an information recording layer 2, and forms an interference pattern caused from interference between the information light and the reference light for recording to record information, and further, the information is settled by ultraviolet light for settling emitted from a light source 93 to an area where the interference pattern is formed by being irradiated with the information light and the reference light for recording in the information recording layer 2.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an optical system for recording or reproducing small and to reduce intensity change in reproducing light with respect to thickness of an information recording layer recording information by using holography. SOLUTION: At a recording time, a hologram layer 3 of an optical information recording medium 1 is irradiated by recording reference light from one surface side through an objective lens 12, and the other side surface is irradiated by information light through a coupling lens 50, and a reflection type hologram is formed. At a reproducing time, the hologram layer 3 of the optical information recording medium 1 is irradiated by reproducing reference light from one surface side through the objective lens 12, and the information light generated from the hologram layer 3 is converged by the objective lens 12 to be detected by a CCD array 15.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an optical recording and reproducing system small in configuration. SOLUTION: During recording, the emitted light of a laser coupler 20 is modulated by a spacer optical modulator 16 based on a difference in polarizing direction, the light is divided into an information light and a reference light by an S polarization hologram 15 by making converging positions different from each other based on the polarizing direction, the information light and the reference light are rotary-rotated to have the same polarization direction with each other by a bisected rotary polarizing plate 14 in an area where the information light and the reference light overlap each other in a halogen layer 3 and, by irradiating the hologram layer 3 with light via an objective lens 12, an interference pattern is recorded. During reproduction, the hologram layer 3 is irradiated with the reference light, a primary reproducing light produced by this reference light produces a secondary reproducing light by using the light reflected on a reflection layer 5 as a secondary reference light and the pattern of this secondary reproducing light is detected by a CCD array 18.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the recording by n-times (n>1) in a density recording medium. SOLUTION: A data series D is divided into n-pieces of data series D1 to Dn , which are then outputted to encoders 2-1 to 2-n respectively by a data conversion circuit 1. These data series are subjected for every 8 bits to EFM (8-14 modulation), and modulated 14-bit data series D1 to D'n are outputted to a synthesizing circuit 3. In the synthesizing circuit 3, the 1st bits of the individual data series are outputted in turn, and then the 2nd bits of the individual data series are outputted in turn, and moreover, bits at and after the 3rd one of the individual data series are also outputted in turn in the same manner. A disk 61 is irradiated with laser light corresponding to a supplied data series by a recording part 4 in accordance with a clock having the n-fold frequency. A photoresist is applied on the surface of the disk 61, and is sensitized in accordance with data outputted by the synthesizing circuit 3.

SOLUTION: A device has a first objective lens 18 which condenses the luminous flux from the first light source on the first kind of an optical disk, and a second objective lens 19 which condenses the luminous flux from the second lights source on the second kind of an optical disk. The respective objective lenses 18 and 19 are arranged on a swing arm 8 through a uniaxial actuator (for focussing) 10, respectively. The luminous fluxes, which are applied into the respective objective lenses 18 and 19, are deflected by a common raising mirror 23 and applied into the respective objective lenses 18 and 19.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify and miniaturize a device by arranging plural rotation parts alternately rotating in an opposite direction on a position symmetrical to an optical axis. CONSTITUTION:After luminous fluxes passing through the rotation parts 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d among the beans outgoing from a laser light source 2 are reflected by a magneto-optical disk 1, pass through the rotation parts 6d, 6c, 6b, 6a respectively, and are made incident on a polarizing beam splitter 5. By the optically active parts 6a-6d, the formed and backward propagating laser beams are rotated in polarization to a right direction, a left direction, the right direction, the left direction alternately by a prescribed rotation angle (alpha) respectively. By a polarizing film 5a, e.g. the beam of an S polarization component is reflected to be sent to a photodetector 8. By photodetectors 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D, the luminous fluxes respectively passing through the optically active parts 6d, 6c, 6b, 6a and outgoing therefrom are received. Signals outputted from the photodetectors 8A-8D are processed by a proper electronic circuit, and an RF signal, an MO signal, a push-pull signal and a focus error signal are obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To take out high-grade magneto-optical recording signals with simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-optical recording disk 1 is irradiated with the laser beams emitted from a laser diode 2 after the laser beam on the right side of the optical axis as a boundary is optically rotated by a prescribed angle by a dextrorotatory plate 5R of an optically rotary plate 5 and after the laser beam on the left side is optically rotated by a prescribed angle by a levorotatory plate 5L. The reflected light relating to the laser beam via the dextrorotatory plate 5R is made incident on the levorotatory plate 5L and is further optically rotated by the prescribed angle in a right direction. The reflected light relating to the laser beam via the levorotatory plate 5L is made incident on the dextrorotatory plate 5R and is further optically rotated by the prescribed angle in a left direction. This reflected light is bent in its optical path by as much as the prescribed component by a hologram film 4 and is transmitted through a polarization beam splitter 3. A first photocletector 7 for detecting servo signals is irradiated with this light. The reflected light is also reflected by the polarization beam splitter 3 and a second photodetector 8 for detecting the magneto- optical recording signals is irradiated with this light.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To record data with a high density and to suppress the variance in magnetization characteristic of pits. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser 11 and that emitted from a semiconductor laser 18 are thrown to a magneto-optical film 2 of a magneto-optical disk 1 by an objective lent 15 while being shifted from each other in the track direction by one period of a clock. A timing controller 37 drives one of semiconductor lasers 11 and 18, simultaneously drives both of them, or does not drive them at all in accordance with recording data. A coil 6 constitutes a tank circuit 8 together with a capacitor 7 and generates an alternating magnetic field with two-fold period (1/2 frequency) of the clock of recording data.
