    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the highly reliable recording, regeneration and erasure of data under a simple medium structure by providing a recording layer containing a substituted aminophthalocyanine on a substrate and erasing recorded information and further, making it rerecordable. SOLUTION: A recording layer containing a substituted aminophthalocyanine is formed on a substrate so that recorded information can be erased and recorded again. The substituted aminophthalocyanine has an absorption zone in the wavelength area (780nm) of a semiconductor layer beam as a recording light and this indicates that the substituted aminophthalocyanine is significantly different from a phthalocyanine color of such a nature as to show an absorption only in an association state. In addition, the substituted aminophthalocyanine can be mixed with a binder or another organic color. When erasing recorded information, either of the method to heat the whole medium within the temperature range not exceeding a temperature at which the color is thermally decomposed or the method to again flatten pits with the help of the semiconductor laser beam having a power equal to or more than the recording light, is adopted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a photorecording medium with excellent recording and regeneration properties which can be easily manufactured by adding a specific benzoindolene pentamethenecyanine color. CONSTITUTION:A photorecording medium consists of an organic color layer and a reflective layer formed sequentially on a substrate. The organic color layer contains benzoindolene pentamethene color shown by a formula (I) as indicated below. In the formula, l and p are an integer of 0 to 5 respectively; m, n, q and r are an integer of 1 to 12 respectively; and X is paired ions. An organic color layer (2) which absorbs semiconductor laser beam and converts it to heat, and a reflective layer (3) for achieving a high reflection factor as the whole medium are laminated sequentially on the transparent substrate (1). In addition, it is recommended that a protecting film (4) consisting of ultraviolet- curable resin, heat-curable resin and electron-curable resin be provided on the reflective layer (3) if necessary. The benzoidolene pentamethenecyanine color used as an organic color consists of a substitution group of specific structure bound to the nitrogen atom of a benzoindolene ring.
