Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase burst error correction ability of an optical disk drive, etc., using an existing IC without developing a new IC and without changing the number of bytes per sector in method and device for recording/reproducing a disk. CONSTITUTION:First of all, by a division process part 1, the user data of an existing ten interleaving length is divided into two data lines of the number of 1/2 bytes per sector, and dummy data parts are added to respective data lines to be made into two data lines of an existing system. Then, ECC are added to the data lines by using two pieces of existing ECC processors 3, 4. Then, the dummy data parts are removed from the data lines, and the recording data of twenty interleaving length are formed by combining them on a buffer memory 5 to be modulated and recorded. In such a manner, by making the twenty interleaving length, the burst error correction ability is increased, and by removing the dummy data at a recording time, the number of bytes per sector are fixed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve reproducing characteristics by executing recording of preformat signals on a magnetic layer having a relatively high Curie tap. and executing recording or erasing of data signals at the Curie temp. higher than the Curie temp. of a magnetic layer having a relatively low Curie temp. and lower than the Curie temp. of a magnetic layer having a relatively high Curie tap. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical medium 10 is formed by successively laminating a first dielectric layer 2, a first magnetic layer 3, an intermediate layer 4, a second magnetic layer 5, a second dielectric layer 6 and a metallic layer 7 on a disk-shaped flat substrate not provided with ruggedness, such as phase pits and grooves. The recording of the preformat signals is executed on the magnetic layer having the relatively high Curie tap. and the recording or erasing of the data signals is executed at the Curie tap. higher than the Curie temp. of the magnetic layer having the relatively low Curie temp. and below the Curie tap. of the magnetic layer having the relatively high Curie temp., by which the burden of the servo system is lessened and a sufficient signal quantity is obtd. The reproducing characteristics are thus improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make an optical disk having no center hub applicable to a magneto-optical disk recording and reproducing device mounted on a computer by freely attachably and detachably fitting the optical disk center hub having a center hole, chucking and holding it and then driving it to rotate. CONSTITUTION:In order to fit the center hub 10 into the optical disk 4 such as a compact disk, etc., the hub 10 is inserted into the center hole of the disk 4 from the lower surface of a magnetic chucking part 1, and is restrained by a flange part. By this method, the hub 10 is securely fixed to the disk 4 by friction force between its outer surface of a cylinder part and an inner wall of the center hole. When the disk 4 fitted with the hub 10 is placed on a disk table equipped with a hub chucking function, the hub 10 is magnetically attracted by the disk table and is held by chucking, and hence the disk 4 is fixed up. By this method, the spread of massmedia is promoted.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a recording sensitivity by making a light absorption function and a foaming function to be performed by the same layer. CONSTITUTION:A light absorption layer 12 consisting of, for example, a thermoplastic resin layer contg. a light absorbent, such as org. dye or dye absorbing a recording laser beam, and a foaming material, a light reflection layer 13 having a high reflectivity to the laser beam and if necessary, a protective layer 14 for protecting the later 13 are provided on a base body 11 having light transmittability to recording and reading out light; for example, laser beams. Since the light absorption function and foaming function are performed by the same layer 12, the light is efficiently converted to heat by the light absorbent and the heat is efficiently transmitted to the foaming agent to foam this agent at the time of recording and, therefore, the high-density recording is executed. Since the layer 12 itself foams and expands to form pits 15, voids are not generated under the layer 13 and the mechanical strength of the pit parts increases. The layer 13 is locally lifted by the expansion of the layer 12 and the pits 15 are surely formed. The high-sensitivity recording is executed in such a manner.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the linearity of each scanning line by making a reference beam incident on the laser beam incidence point of a deflecting means for deflecting a laser beam, detecting the height of this reference beam which is viewed in a specific direction, and controlling the angle of deflection of the laser beam. CONSTITUTION:The reference beam lS1 different from a brightness-modulated laser beam l1 is made incident on the laser beam incidence point of the horizontal deflecting means 10 and an optical position sensor 23 is arranged at the arrival position of this reference beam lS1. In this case, the reference laser beam lS1 has a specific angle phi to a laser beam l1 for drawing and a reference laser beam lS2, and the reference laser beam lS2 which are reflected by a galvanomirror 21 and a drawing laser beam l2 are so set that they are made incident on the same position on a reflection part 11. Consequently, the zigzag state of each scanning line by the brightness-modulated laser beam l1 can be detected from the incidence state of the reference laser beam lS1 to the optical position sensor 23 and the deflecting means is controlled according to the detection state of the reference beam to improve the linearity of each scanning line.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a rotary polygonal mirror and to lower the rotating speed by reflecting the exit light from the rotary polygonal mirror which equally divides a laser beam in a prescribed reflecting part so as to be made incident again to the rotary polygonal mirror and executing plural times of deflection scanning during respective one scanning cycle divided by the number of faces of the rotary polygonal mirror. CONSTITUTION:A sectorial optical path-parallel optical path converting means 21 is provided on the reflection deflecting optical path obtd. by incidence of a laser beam l1 to the rotary polygonal mirror 10. The reflection deflecting scanning beam l2 spreading in a sectorial shape is converted to collimated scanning beams l3 by this converting means 21. The beams l3 are divided to the deflecting ranges of two regions and the collimated scanning beams in the respective divided ranges are reflected and turned back respectively by 1st and 2nd reflecting parts 22a and 22b or 23a and 23b. The turned back beams are returned to the sectorial deflection scanning beams by the converting means 21 and are made incident again to the mirror 10. Plural times of the deflection scanning are executed during the respective one scanning cycle divided by the number of faces of the mirror 10. The size of the rotary polygonal mirror is reduced in this way and the rotating speed thereof is lowered.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium with which recording and reproducing are performed by the laser beam irradiated from the base plate side and which has excellent sensitivity, etc. by forming a metallic layer having high transmittance to laser light on the base plate and forming a low melting metallic layer which alloys easily with the metallic layer by absorbing laser light on said metallic layer. CONSTITUTION:The 1st metallic layer 7 of Sb2Se3, etc. having high light transmittance on a transparent base plate 3 having guide grooves 5. A low melting metallic layer 8 of BiTe, etc. which alloys easily with the metal of the layer 7 by absorbing laser light is successively laminated thereon to form a recording layer 6. A transparent layer 9 of chalcogenide glass, etc. and a metallic reflecting layer 10 of Al, Ag, etc. are formed in this order on the layer 6. A laser beam is irradiated from the plate 3 side to perform recording so that the reproduction by the weak beam is made possible. Two sheets of such recording media 2 are joined by using an adhesive agent 4 by which the recording medium 1 permitting use of the two sides is obtd. The recording medium having a high S/N and high resolution when laser light of low energy is used and having excellent durability is thus obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce an electrocasted original disc having rugged patterns of high accuracy in the stage of producing an original disc for pressing of audio discs, etc. and further electrocasting said electrocasted original disc from this original disc by providing a guide for electrolyte and a filter of specific shapes between the electrocasted original plate as the cathode and a soluble anode column. CONSTITUTION:An original stamper for producing audio discs, video discs, etc. by pressing is produced by electrocasting of Ni from a master of said original disc and is stripped from the master. Here, a master 12 having ruggedness for information parts is fixed to an electricity conducting chuck 13 in an electrolytic bath cell 11, and is rotated with a revolving shaft 14. An anode part 17 contg. Ni balls 16 is disposed by facing the master 12, and an insulation characteristic annular guide 19 is provided between both. An electrolyte enters the cell 11 through a pipe 18, flows through a passage 20 between the guide 19 and the master 12, and is circulated while it is filtered of anode slime with a filter 21; therefore, the electrocasted stamper formed with the ruggedness on the sursure of the master 12 at a uniform height with high accuracy on the master 12 surface is obtained.
