Abstract: PURPOSE:To make measurement speedy and easy by detecting a white area by an optical sensor arranged in a position facing to the tube surface of a CRT and setting the white area based on the detection. CONSTITUTION:An optical sensor 4 having the directional sensitivity characteristic of a single peak characteristic is arranged in the position facing to the tube surface 2 of a color CRT 1 and measures a convergence condition in the plural spots of the tube surface 2 with changing the position. When the position of the sensor 4 is arranged on the white area, a CPU 8 decides whether the arrangement position is the white area or not. When the position is decided as the white area, the spots excepting for the spot, where the sensor 4 is arranged, are set as the white area by a white area set part 12. A pattern generator 15 defines the area set by the set part 12 as a white pattern and gradually shifts the emission lines of respective primary colors in the other area in a vertical direction. Then, a video signal to be projected is outputted to the CRT 1. Thus, when the convergence condition is measured, it is not necessary to execute operation, which is conventionally executed, to move the white area.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent effect to other heaters even if current does not flow in one heater by driving a drive circuit in which a series circuit of resistance having resistance value of heaters and a switching means actuating according to the current of the heaters are connected in parallel to the two heaters by a fixed current source. CONSTITUTION:Four heaters H1, H2, H3, H4 are driven by a fixed current source 4 and decomposing activation of four cathodes are performed. This time, voltage is generated on both the ends of resistance R1, R2, R3, R4. As the values of these resistance are equal and voltages are also equal, 3-terminal thyristers SCR1, SCR2, SCR3 and SCR4 are in OFF condition. If the heater H1 is disconnected, current I0 flows in the heater H2 and resistance R2, and cathode of the thyrister SCR2 and gate of the thyrister SCR1 have voltage of I0XR2. By this voltage, the thyrister SCR1 becomes ON and current I0/2 flows in the resistance R5. Then by this current, decomposing activation of cathode of a cathode-ray tube having heaters H2, H3, H4 can normally be made.
