    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the portable telephone set in which the nuisance of carrying a portable telephone set main body together with an additional functional unit separately or the like is avoided. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set is made up of a portable telephone set main body 1 provided with an earphone microphone 5, an antenna 6, a jog dial 7, a liquid crystal display device 8, and an operation key 9 and up of an additional function unit 2 provided with a battery 4. The main body 1 and the additional functional unit 2 are connected by an interface connection section 3 integrally. Then the function operation, the information display and the voice input output of the additional function unit 2 are conducted by using the jog dial 7, the liquid crystal display device 8, and the earphone microphone 5 of the portable telephone set main body 1. Thus, trouble of carrying the portable telephone set main body 1 together with the additional functional unit 2 is avoided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To directly input a coordinate while a picture is viewed by providing a transparent position detection board on a screen. CONSTITUTION:A projective type display device consists of a laser light source 2, a liquid crystal light valve 1 in which the optical picture is written by laser beams 16 from the laser light source 2, a screen 3 on which the optical picture obtained in the liquid crystal light valve 1 is projected by a light beam from a light source 4, and the transparent position detection board 41 arranged on the screen surface. With scanning the laser beams 16 in X and Y directions and projecting the liquid crystal light valve 1, liquid crystal in an projected part is heated and the phase change of liquid crystal occurs. The objective optical picture is written in the liquid crystal light valve 1 and the optical picture is enlarged and projected on the screen. With providing the transparent position detection board 41 on the screen surface, the coordinate can be directly inputted by a detection electrode 42 while the picture on the screen is viewed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain highly accurate positional detection by reading out an optical signal, and at the detection of the position of laser light to be detected, wobbling the laser light to be detected. CONSTITUTION:A light source part 1 for radiating laser light to be detected at its position, a deflecting means 4 for turning laser light 2 to a prescribed position on an irradiating surface 3, a light source 5 for radiating laser light for positional detection, a wobbling means 7 for wobbling the position detecting laser light 6, a grating 8, and a photodetecting means 9 are arranged. The position detecting laser light 6 is turned to a position corresponding to the irradiating position of the laser light to be detected at its position on the grating 8. The wobbling width of the laser light 6 by the wobbling means 7 is selected at least to >1/2 pitches of the grating 8 when the interference effect of the laser light 6 by the grating 8 is used, and when the interference effect is not used, selected to >1 pitch. Thus, a counting pulse is obtained by making the laser light 6 cross the grating 8 to obtain positional information.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To write a picture in a liquid crystal cell within a shorter period without reducing a display level by forming a means for increasing the quantity of energy to be applied to an area to be written in accordance with an output from a discriminating means. CONSTITUTION:A laser diode 10 is kept at ON only for a period corresponding to a writing pulse PA by a laser driving circuit 9 to write a picture element in an area Sn of a liquid crystal cell 20. When no picture element is written in any areas Sn-1, Sn+1, Sn+2 excluding the area Sn, the writing pulse PA is outputted from a monostable multivibrator 2 and a writing pulse PB having pulse width wider than that of the pulse PA is outputted from a monostable multivibrator 7 and sent to the laser driving circuit 9 through an OR circuit 8. In this case, the pulse PB is more effective than the pulse PB by the wider pulse width. Namely, the time required for the irradiation of laser light is increased longer than that of the writing of a picture element at least in any one of respective areas Sn-1, Sn+1, Sn+2 to increase the quantity of energy to be applied to the area Sn and write a picture element in the area Sn.
