Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide the device in which any warpage of the device or any short-circuit of electrodes due to insulating covers can surely be prevented from occurring. CONSTITUTION: In this device, stripe-like display electrodes 32, to each of which a voltage for generating a plasma in a plasma cell (s) 3 is applied, are formed on a plasma substrate glass 31. Display electrodes 32 positioned in the vicinity of a sealing section 35 in a hermetically sealed chamber 36 each are covered with their respective independent insulator covers formed apart from each other. Also, the joined parts each between the electrode 32 and a take-out electrode for connecting the display electrode 32 to the outside of the sealing section 35 are covered with the independent insulator covers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure the flatness of thin plate glass which partitions the liquid crystal cell and plasma cells of the plasma address electrooptical device. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted by using a couple of glass substrates 4 and 7. Signal electrodes D which are arranged in parallel to one another are formed on the internal surface of one glass substrate 4. On the internal surface of the other glass substrate 7, plasma electrode 8 which are arranged in parallel to one another along the main surface and crossed at right angles to the signal electrodes D and partition walls 9 formed on the electrodes are provided. A liquid crystal layer 6 is packed between the glass substrate 4 and intermediate interposing thin plate glass 3. The plasma chambers 12 are formed between the thin plate glass 3 and the other glass substrate 7. Rod-shaped low m.p. glass 11 is interposed between the thin plate glass 3 and glass substrate 7 for frit sealing. The low m.p. glass which is formed in a rod shape in advance is used to secure the flatness of the thin plate glass 3.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To assure the flatness of sheet glass partitioning the liquid crystal cell and plasma cell of the plasma address electrooptical device. CONSTITUTION:This plasma address electrooptical device is constituted by using a pair of glass substrates 4, 7. Signal electrodes D disposed in parallel with each other are formed on the inside surface of the one glass substrate 4. Plasma electrodes 8 which intersect orthogonally with the signal electrodes D and are disposed in parallel with each other along the main surface and partition walls 9 formed on these electrodes 8 are provided on the inside surface of the other glass substrate 7. A liquid crystal layer 6 is packed between the glass substrate 4 and the sheet glass 3 interposed therewith. A plasma chamber 12 is formed between the sheet glass 3 and the other glass substrate 7. A flat plate spacer 10 is interposed between the sheet glass 3 and the glass substrate 7. Low melting glass 11 is provided along the outer side of this flat plate spacer 10 to execute frit sealing. The flatness of the sheet glass 3 is assured by using the flat plate spacer 10.
