Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title polyimide polymer having a specific inherent viscosity, excellent in the heat resistance and strength thereof and capable of being injection-molded, by comprising 3,3',4,4'-diphenyl sulfone tetracaboxylic acid dianhydride and a bis(aminophenoxy)benzene. CONSTITUTION:(A) 3,3',4,4'-Diphenyl sulfone tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and (B) an aromatic diamine having two connected diphenyl ether bonds [e.g., 1,4-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzene] are mixed in a solvent to form a polyamic acid solution, which is added to a solution containing acetic anhydride, pyridine, etc., for a reaction thereof to provide the objective polymer containing the repeating units of the formula as a main component and having an inherent viscosity of 0.2-5.0dl/g measured under conditions consisting of a concentration of 0.5g/dl and a temperature of 30 deg.C in concentrated sulfuric acid.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the reduction of shear breakage of fiber in kneading, the compounding of fiber at a high concentration and the maintenance of heat- resistance and mechanical properties of resultant composition, by cutting aromatic polyamide fibers bonded with each other using a specific amount of a heat-resistant resin and compounding the fiber to a heat-resistant resin. CONSTITUTION:10-130pts.(wt.) preferably 15-100pts. of an aromatic polyamide fiber is bonded with (A) 100pts.(wt.) of a heat-resistant resin selected from polyarylate, polysulfone, polyether sulfone, polyether imide, polyether ether ketone, polyphenylene sulfide and polyamide imide and (B) 1-25wt%, preferably 1-10wt% heat-resistant resin selected from the group A and soluble in an organic solvent. The bonded fiber is cut to 0.5-12mm, preferably 1-6mm length and kneaded under melting. The fiber of the component B keeps the shape of pellet without forming a cotton-like lump. It can be easily mixed even at a high concentration and uniformly dispersed by kneading under melting.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled novel polymer capable of melt forming, with both high thermal stability and fluidity, suitable for films, fibers, laminates, coatings, etc., by copolymerization, in specified proportion, between specific acid component and two or more diamine components. CONSTITUTION:(A) An aromatic diacarboxylic acid dichloride with a molar ratio of the m-phenylene bond to p-phenylene bond regulated to 30-100/70-0 representing structural unit of formula I (R1 is 1-4C alkyl; a is 0-4) is dis solved in, e.g. an organic polar solvent (e.g. N-methylpyrrolidone); following that, (B) pref. 0.9-1.1mol per mole of the component A, of a mixed diamine made up of (i) 2-98mol% of an aromatic diamine representing structural unit of formula II (n is 0 or 1) and (ii) 98-2mol% of a second aromatic diamine representing structural unit of formula III (X is O, S, etc.) is added to perform polymerization at -20-80 deg.C, thus obtaining the objective polymer with a loga rithmic viscosity >=0.25.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound useful as a heat-resistant polymeric material at a remarkably reduced production cost in extremely improved working environment, by reacting a solution of an aromatic diamine with an aromatic carboxylic acid chloride in polar amide solvent. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic diamine solution is produced by carrying out the catalytic reduction of an aromatic dinitro compound or an aromatic mononitroamino compound in a polar amide solvent free from inhibiting activity to the polymerization reaction (e.g. N,N-dimethylformamide) in the presence of a heterogeneous hydrogenation catalyst (e.g. platinum-carbon) and removing by-produced water by distillation. The solution is made to react with an aromatic tricarboxylic acid anhydride monochloride of formula I (Ar is trivalent aromatic residue) and/or an aromatic dicarboxylic acid dichloride of formula II (Ar' is bivalent aromatic residue) in a polar amide solvent at 20-200 deg.C to obtain the objective product.
