SOLUTION: This ultrafine conjugate fiber comprises a sea component and an island component capable of generating two or more kinds of ultrafine fibers mainly having a fineness of 0.3-0.001 denier and different in their shrinkage degrees each other. Therein, the island component comprises at least two kinds of cationic dyestuff-dyeable fibers and anionic dyestuff-dyeable fibers. This method for producing an ultrafine fiber woven or knitted fabric comprises forming a woven or knitted fabric from the ultrafine conjugate fibers comprising the sea component and the island component mainly having a fineness of 0.3-0.001 denier and comprising at least two kinds of fibers including cationic dyestuff-dyeable fibers and anionic dyestuff-dyeable fibers and subsequently removing the sea component from the woven or knitted fabric.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an optical element formed by utilizing assemblies of fibers as two sheets of sheet-like materials and the display plate of a transmission type or reflection type arranged therewith. CONSTITUTION:This optical element 8 consists of two sheets of the sheet-like materials and has the structure in which at least one sheet thereof is a driving part and is fixed to a fixing part 3 of plural band-shaped electrodes 2 and an insulator 4. The optical element is driven by the electrostatic attraction and repulsion force generated between the driving part and the fixing part when a voltage is impressed to the band-shaped electrodes 2. The sheet-like materials constituting the driving part are the assemblies of the fibers. The display element is constituted by arranging a plurality of these optical elements. The constitution is simple and the thin film-like flexible optical elements having a memory characteristic are obtd. The sheet-like flexible display plate which is formable to a large size and is bendable and roundable is obtd. An effect like that of ground glass is obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain easily a stereostructure forming laminated body on the spot by laminating alternatively low heat-shrinkable sheets and highly heat-shrinkable sheets at a specified interval each into five layers through a stripe-like partially adhesive layer and perforating holes feeding hot air from the surface layer to the highly heat-shrinkable sheet of the inner layer. CONSTITUTION:Low heat-shrinkable sheets 1 and highly heat-shrinkable sheets 2 are alternatively laminated each with an adhesive layer 3 at a specified interval intermittently into at least five layers. The adhesive layer 3 is partially adhered into a stripe-like shape at a specified interval. Holes 4 for feeding hot air to the highly heat-shrinkable sheets 2 of the inner layer are formed on the surface. When the hot air is fed from the holes to the inner layer, low heat-shrinkable sheets 1 exhibit larger shrinkages than those of the highly heat- shrinkable sheets 2 to become bulky between the adhesive layers 3 and to form a stereo-structure forming laminated body. Therefore, making it bulky can be performed without using foaming gas and a stable stereo-structure forming laminated body with high strength can be obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a new optical material and educational equipment for science by using a color tone-changing gel whose color is changed by external stimuli. CONSTITUTION:In the color tone-changing gel, its color is changed by external stimuli. In this case, any gel having a property of changing the color corresponding to various stimuli such as the temperature, humidity, voltage and pressure therein, or any gel to which such property is given, may be used as a gel whose color is changed by the external stimuli. Then, the high molecular gel 2 and an electrode 3 swelled in an electrolytic aq. solution in which an indicator is dissolved are arranged at the inside of an optical cell 1, a part of whose front face is transparent. When the DC voltage is applied from a power source 4, cations in the gel are diffused toward a negative electrode, thus the pH value in the vicinity of the negative electrode is increased and the color of the indicator is changed. Further, the color of the indicator is turned to the original color by reversing the positive and negative of the DC voltage.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title method by which a fluororesin film excellent in adhesive properties is obtd. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a fluororesin film is modified by using a treating apparatus of air-to-air type having air seal sections in front of an behind a treating chamber and exposing the film to electric discharge in the chamber by applying a high voltage W between a high-voltage apply electrode and a counter electrode supporting the film. The discharge is conducted in a gaseous atmosphere contg. at least 70mol.% at least one rare gas selected from the group consisting of He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe, at least one gas selected from the group consisting of CO2 and hydrocarbons of the formula: CnH2n+2 (wherein n is 1-4), and oxygen in an amt. of 500ppm or lower and under a pressure of 100-1,000Torr. Thus, a fluororesin film having adhesive properties practically enough is obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the optical element and display plate for which the light interference effect generated by the stimulus by an environmental change, such as electric field, magnetic field or photoirradiation, in the slit structures formed of high-polymer gel compsn. is utilized. CONSTITUTION:A high-polymer gel part 1 contg. ionic groups is enclosed with black plastics 2 and is held by upper and lower electrodes consisting of transparent conductive films 3, 3'. Further, this gel part is illuminated with light emitting elements 5 from the rear surface of the lower transparent conductive film 3'. The high-polymer gel part 1 has the slit structures 4. The width of the slits 4 is changed by swelling and shrinking of the gel when a potential difference is applied between the upper and lower electrodes of the transparent conductive films 3, 3'. When the slit width is previously selected at the size at which the interference effect of the light is easily observable, the spectrum of the light transmitting this element changes if the illuminating light is white light. The intensity of the transmitted light changes if the illuminating light is monochromatic light.
