Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide suspension having fine diameter of primary particles, not making strong secondary aggregation, having high crystallizability and excellent chemical stability by consisting main component essentially of zirconia fine particles and a saturated hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:This suspension of zirconia-based fine particles is a dispersion of zirconia-based fine particles comprising zirconia fine particles and a saturated hydrocarbon as main components. This dispersion, for example, is obtained by blending aqueous crystallized zirconia-based sol with the saturated hydrocarbon as a dispersion medium and, if necessary, a surfactant and dehydrating the blend under heating. The saturated hydrocarbon used in the production is a hydrocarbon non-compatible with water and when the suspension is used for cosmetic such as sun oil, liquid paraffin or squalane is preferable as the hydrocarbon. The suspension of zirconia-based fine particles has fine diameter of primary particles, high crystallizability and excellent chemical stability.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide sol useful for producing synthetic fibers and resins, having fine dispersed particle diameter of zirconia and excellent dispersibility by consisting a dispersion medium essentially of dimethyl sulfoxide. CONSTITUTION:This crystallized zirconia-based sol comprises dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a main component of dispersion medium. This sol, for example, is obtained by adding DMSO to aqueous crystallized zirconia-based sol and dehydrating under heating. The sol has fine dispersed particle diameter of zirconia particles and excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability so that the sol is useful as a raw material for producing fibers and resins and can effectively eliminate deterioration of strength, etc., especially in production of acrylic fibers, etc. Since DMSO is much used in production of various resins and acrylic fibers, the sol can be readily applied to resins and fibers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive far infrared ray emitting material, excellent in far infrared ray emissivity and suitably for uses in drying, treating, heating, cooking, etc., by addition thereof to coatings, etc., by composing the material from a boehmite gel as a principal ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A far infrared ray emitting material is produced by using a boehmite gel as a principal ingredient. Furthermore, the boehmite gel can be produced by a method for hydrolyzing an alkoxide of aluminum and aging amorphous alumina gel in an aqueous solution at >=25 deg.C, etc. The boehmite gel has a higher moisture content than that in boehmite of Al2O3.H2O, has a composition close to Al2O3.1.5H2O to Al2O3.2H2O and called psuedo-boehmite. The boehmite gel can be mixed with coatings, etc., and applied to a fabric, cotton, dryer, etc., to form a far infrared ray emitting film.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coat a substrate with zeolite crystal thinly and densely. SOLUTION: A substrate is subjected to adhesion, immersion or coating with (1) an acid, (2) an ester which generates a carboxylic ion by dissociation, and (3) a carboxylic metal salt which generates a carboxylic ion by dissociation. Then the substrate is made to contact with a slurry, a sol or a solution each containing the zeolite crystal. A zeolite precursor is made to contact with the substrate thus coated and the zeolite precursor is crystallized, so that a zeolite film can be manufactured.
