Abstract:
An armchair is provided with a massaging device made up of a plurality of powered massaging assemblies (13, 113, 213). Each assembly comprises massaging means (14, 114, 214) to exert, at a preestablished region, a massaging pressure moving along a massage stretch substantially parallel to the rest surface of the human body on the armchair at such a region.
Abstract:
A massage apparatus comprises a support structure, a plurality of massaging arms operatively connected to the support structure, and an actuating mechanism. Each massaging arm has at least one massaging finger adapted to impart a massaging force to a user. Each massaging arm is moveable relative to the support structure in a manner to move its corresponding massaging finger relative to the support structure between a rearward position and a forward position. The actuating mechanism is adapted to engage the massaging arms in a manner to sequentially move the massaging fingers between their rearward and forward positions.
Abstract:
A pulsing valve (10) for routing water flow from an inlet line (12) to outlet lines (14) connected to water jets (24) arranged in an array to massage an occupant of a whirlpool bath (28) is provided. The pulsing valve (10) includes a water turbine (38) driving a selector disk (62) through a reduction gear drive (50). The selector disk (62) contains openings (64) which oppose individual outlet water lines (14) and direct water flow to them. Rotation of the selector disk (62) switches water flow among the individual outlet water lines (14), causing the massaging water jet location to move, improving the quality of the resulting massage.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a wave generating apparatus for generating waves in for example beds, chairs and the like. The apparatus can be constructed to include a motor and crank assembly connected to a flexible sheet and a stationary inertial member. In one aspect of the invention there is provided an apparatus for generating wave motion, comprising a flexible member; an oscillatory drive means attached to said flexible member, said oscillatory drive means including a crank assembly having an axis of rotation; at least two link members each having opposed first and second end portions, the at least two link members being spaced apart a first pre-selected distance from each other and each being rigidly attached at their respective first end portions to said flexible member; and at least one elongate beam, said at least two link members being pivotally attached to the at least one elongate beam, and the elongate beam being attached to the crank assembly, for imparting oscillatory motion to the at least one elongate beam so that when the oscillatory drive means is engaged the at least one elongate beam undergoes oscillatory motion which produces transverse waves along the flexible member.
Abstract:

Abstract:
This invention is a massaging system having at least a pair of fluid inflatable chambers (21, 22), and a fluidic switch (10) alternately connecting the at least a pair of fluid-inflatable chambers (21, 22) to a source of fluid (17) under pressure. The fluidic switch (10) is a crossover type fluid switch having a switching chamber (11) having two side walls (13, 14) in which fluid from the source (17) is switched from one side wall of the switching chamber to the other side of the switching chamber, is sensitive to load on the fluid inflatable chambers (21, 22), respectively, and vented passageways (19, 20) coupling the inflatable chambers (21, 22) to the switch.
Abstract:
Provided is an extensible device capable of switch, control, power and connection. Each extensible device includes a signal receiving device adapted to receive control signal and electrically connected to a small power source to control the small power source. The small power source is power-connected to an extensible structure. The extensible structure includes a transmission gear train whereby a massage device, coupled with one reinforced motor, controllably effects a plurality of massage techniques in conjunction with the at least an extensible device.
