Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a flocked planar product having a net or grid structure. In said method, a net-type or grid-type, planar starting substrate is provided with an adhesive coating into which flock fibers are introduced in an electrostatic fashion. In order to apply the adhesive coating, the starting substrate is moved through a passageway for applying adhesive between a pressing member and a transfer member that stores adhesive, and the transfer member is moved by means of the pressing member in such a way that an adhesive deposit builds up or accumulates at the inlet of the application passageway, the planar starting substrate being immersed and/or guided through said adhesive deposit.
Abstract:
A multi-colored flocked article is provided having a plurality of flock and adhesive regions. Each flock region is defined by a plurality of flock fibers that are substantially the same in color and are substantially free of light dispersants, such as titanium dioxide. Further, each flock region is of a different color relative to an adjacent flock region to form a patterned, multicolored design. Each of the plurality of adhesive regions corresponds to a flock region and includes a colored adhesive. The color of the adhesive is at least similar or substantially similar in color to the flock fibers in the corresponding flock region.
Abstract:
A process for the manufacture of flocked material and the products produced thereby are disclosed. A flock material is supplied onto a surface of continuous portions of a molten or semi-molten polymeric web. The flocked material is cooled sufficiently for the flock material to at least partially embed in the top surface of the web.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a flocked article, more particularly based on a foam or a casting compound, for example for seals, in which the flocking material is introduced directly into, more particularly partially embedded in, the surface of the article. The invention also relates to a process for flocking an article, more particularly based on a foam or a casting compound, in which the flocking material is introduced directly into the incompletely solidified surface of the article, more particularly of the foam or casting compound. The article consists preferably of a foam produced from at least two foamable reactive components, one of which is an aqueous polymer polyol component and the other an NCO-containing component.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a foamed PVC moulding having at least one surface covered with flock. The invention also relates to a method for forming a foamed PVC flocked moulding, which is characterised in that it comprises the step of locally heating the moulding where it is to be bent until the moulding reaches plasticity in this location, the subsequent step of bending the moulding in this location and the step of cooling the moulding until the bent moulding becomes rigid again.
