Abstract:
Disclosed is a DVB-H CBMS system by which a user can continue to view a program being in service even when the transport stream or IP platform changes while the user views the program. In the DVB-H CBMS system, the system transmits service mapping information according to transport streams or IP platforms to the terminal, so that the system can provide a service without interruption to the terminal even when a user of the terminal moves out of a current cell or network into a new cell or network while receiving a service that the user selected.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a plurality of data streams in a wireless broadcast system are provided. The method includes mapping the plurality of data streams onto a super-frame that includes a plurality of frames; inserting signalling information in a first signalling information field for assisting in the reception of a first number of said plurality of data streams for a given frame, the first number being less than or equal to a limit applicable to each of the plurality of frames; dependent on a number of data streams for the given frame being greater than the limit, inserting signalling information in a second signalling information field; inserting said first and second signalling information fields in a preamble section of said given frame; and transmitting the plurality of frames.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a digital broadcast receiver including a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) module for receiving digital broadcastings of multiple channels; an output unit for outputting voice and image signals of the digital broadcastings; and a controller for controlling the DMB module to receive the digital broadcastings while successively and automatically switching the channels at a predetermined time interval, and controlling the digital broadcasting data received in the DMB module to be transmitted to the output unit.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a notification message in a Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) system are provided, in which a terminal detects an Access Point (AP) from an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrapping session, queries the AP to request a notification message list or all or part of a notification message over a communication channel, and receives the notification message list or all or part of the notification message from the AP.
Abstract:
An improved system and method for transmitting a multiplexed service stream over an error prone DVB-H channel. Media IP packets are priority labeled. For each time slice burst, the IP packets are grouped based upon the priority labels. MPE-FEC matrices are made for the different priority labels in each time slice burst. RSDT columns are computed such that the average service bit rate does not overshoot the maximum allowed service bit rate, and the protection increases with priority. The ADT and RSDT of the MPE-FEC matrices are then encapsulated into MPE-FEC sections.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for receiving broadcast data in a portable digital broadcasting receiver. A Radio Frequency (RF) receiver receives a broadcast signal. A data demodulator demodulates the broadcast signal. Upon receipt of a broadcast-related key from a user, a controller controls the data demodulator to operate in a concentrated channel switching mode and acquire, from the broadcast signal, data of all broadcast channels including a broadcast channel selected by the user. Upon failure to receive broadcast-related key for channel switching for a predetermined time, the controller controls the data demodulator to operate in a selected channel viewing mode and acquire data of the broadcast channel selected by the user from the broadcast signal.
