Abstract:
The application relates to modular electronic apparatus (1) for distribution of RF communication signals. The apparatus comprises a chassis (2) arranged to removably receive plural modules (3), at least some of which are arranged to receive and process RF communication signals. A communication path (17) is provided for modules to communicate with each other and/or with the chassis. Plural modules received in the chassis. When a module is received in the chassis, it is arranged to broadcast a message over the communication path indicating its presence in the chassis and its type. At least one other module is arranged to adapt its behaviour in response to the message.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel connector module structure, to be installed in a system to form connection between at least two functional modules. The connector module provides jumper connection capabilities, i.e., allowing one of its connection terminals to form electrical connection with a connection terminal of one or more particular non-adjacent connector modules.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a distributor device for use in communication and data systems technology, comprising at least one distributor connection module. Said distributor connection module comprises a housing which houses input and output contacts, accessible from the exterior, for connecting lines, cables or wires. The distributor device comprises at least one additional connection module which comprises at least one SDH/SONET transport interface and outputs for electrical signals. The outputs of the connection module are connected to inputs of the distributor connection module. The connection module comprises at least one converter for converting SDH/SONET transport signals to E1 signals and vice versa. The invention also relates to a corresponding connection module and a corresponding distributor connection module.
Abstract:
A modular system for the connection of an external communication network to a user network of a building includes: at least one user module including: i) at least one passage opening of a connection cable of the user network including a plurality of optical fibres associated with respective users and ii) a plurality of adapters associated with respective optical fibres of the connection cable of the user network, and at least one operator module including: i) at least one inlet opening of at least one connection cable to the external communication network including a plurality of optical fibres and ii) at least one outlet opening of a plurality of fibre optic connection elements connected to the external communication network and provided with a connector at a terminal end thereof. The user module and the operator module are structurally independent from each other and the external communication network is operatively associated with the user network by means of a connection of the connectors of the fibre optic connection elements with respective selected adapters of the user module.
Abstract:
A modular expandable telecommunication system having a main cabinet and at least one expansion cabinet that are interconnected with each other to obtain an extended telecommunication system with increased connection possibilities for extensions and trunks. The main cabinet and each expansion cabinet have a transmission interface unit allowing connection of the expansion cabinet(s) to the main cabinet via a single transmission link conveying voice/data channels and low level signaling for mutual synchronization and clock recovery for all interconnected cabinets. The main cabinet has a master clock device, a CPU for running software applications and a DSP for routing the higher level messages issued by the CPU depending on the physical location of the expansion cabinet.
Abstract:
An assembly (10) of three telecommunications modules (12, 14, 16) each having an equal number of contacts for connecting wires (18, 20, 28) therewith, comprises splitter circuits (30′, 30″), the number of splitter circuits (30′, 30″) being equal to half of the number of contacts of each module (12, 14, 16), one third of the contacts (24, 74) of the assembly (10) being adapted to transmit a line signal, one third of the contacts (22, 72) of the assembly (10) being adapted to transmit a POTS signal, and one third of the contacts (26) of the assembly (10) being adapted to transmit a DSLAM-signal. A module, particularly for use within an assembly, is open at a side other than a front side, at which contacts are exposed, so as to allow at least one splitter circuit (30′, 30″) to be at least partially inserted into the module.
Abstract:
An electronic device in the form of a network communications module that includes a housing that defines an envelope and a vertical, substantially T-shaped routing channel within the envelope. The housing further defines a horizontal routing channel within the envelope that is in communication with the T-shaped routing channel. A plurality of boards is arranged vertically within the housing and at least one board includes input-output ports. At least one communication conduit is coupled to an input-output port. Boards that include input-output ports are recessed with respect to the envelope and are arranged such that the input-output ports are adjacent the T-shaped routing channel. Communication conduits are routed through at least a portion of at least one of the routing channels. Support walls are provide within the housing that help prevent cross-talk and redundancy is provided in some of the device's components and functions.
Abstract:
A modular digital telephone system and method featuring a universal telephony shelf adaptable for incremental expansion of legacy telephone switches and as a building block in the construction of new telephony switches. The shelf includes identification and connectors for shelf pairing, and is adapted to receive redundant power supplies, plural line cards, and either a peripheral shelf interface unit or a switch array card upon which is located a flash memory device utilized for reconfiguration purposes of a resident field programmable gate array.
Abstract:
A method of arbitrating access to a system bus in a telephone switching system for a plurality of requesters by assigning a priority level to each requester, and granting access to the bus based on the number of requesters, the priority of the requestors and the timing of the requests.
Abstract:
An apparatus and system is provided for coupling an ethernet switch to communication link(s) in a communication network without requiring the disconnection and reconnection of the communication link(s). A module is configured to accommodate components of an ethernet switch, and can be modularly introduced into a communication rack and quickly engaged with rack-mounted mating connectors which are coupled to the communication link(s).
