Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for selecting actions for an agent at a specific real-world location using historical data generated at the same real-world location. One of the methods includes determining a current geolocation of an agent within an environment; obtaining historical data for geolocations in a vicinity of the current geolocation of the agent from a database that maintains historical data for a plurality of geolocations within the environment, the historical data for each geolocation comprising observations generated at least in part from sensor readings of the geolocation captured by vehicles navigating through the environment; generating an embedding of the obtained historical data; and providing the embedding as an input to a policy decision-making system that selects actions to be performed by the agent.

Abstract: Primary vehicles having cameras or other sensors generate and transmit instructions for causing secondary vehicles, such as personal delivery devices, to travel on selected courses and speeds. The primary vehicles capture and process images or other data to determine positions or orientations of the secondary vehicle, to detect any obstacles, and to select courses or speeds for the secondary vehicle based on the locations of the obstacles or one or more objectives of a task or function. Alternatively, the secondary vehicles may also capture images or other data, and transmit the images or data to the primary vehicle for processing. The secondary vehicles may include one or more fiducials having visual markings thereon. The visual identifiers are fixed in their orientations with respect to the secondary vehicles, such that positions or orientations of the secondary vehicles may be determined upon detecting the markings within imaging data.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein may involve (i) based on an analysis of 2D data captured by a vehicle while operating in a real-world environment during a window of time, generating a 2D track for at least one object detected in the environment comprising one or more 2D labels representative of the object, (ii) for the object detected in the environment: (a) using the 2D track to identify, within a 3D point cloud representative of the environment, 3D data points associated with the object, and (b) based on the 3D data points, generating a 3D track for the object that comprises one or more 3D labels representative of the object, and (iii) based on the 3D point cloud and the 3D track, generating a time-aggregated, 3D visualization of the environment in which the vehicle was operating during the window of time that includes at least one 3D label for the object.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a set of data points captured using a radar system of the vehicle. Each data point is associated with at least three measurements include a Doppler measurement, a range measurement, and an azimuth measurement in reference to the radar system. The method also includes clustering the set of data points into one or more first clusters based on a first pair of the three measurements associated with each of the data points; and clustering the set of data points into one or more second clusters based on a second pair of the three measurements associated with each of the data points. The second pair being different from the first pair of the three measurements.

A combination of techniques may be used to detect degradations within regions of the image data captured by a sensor, including one or more of determining a level of the visual consistency between the associated image regions captured by different sensors, determining a level of opaqueness of the image regions, and/or measuring temporal movement of the image regions captured by a sensor over a period of time. Operations of a vehicle or other system may be controlled based at least in part on the detection of degradations of the image data captured by the sensors, including automated cleaning of a sensor surface, reducing a level of reliance on the image data received from the sensor, and/or changing a direction of travel of the vehicle.
