Abstract: The plate (2) consists of a high-temperature-resistant material such as tungsten, molybdenum or a combination of the two materials. The underside of the anode plate in the region of the focal spot path is formed and/or has an attached or inserted high thermal conductivity material so that improved heat extraction and hence a lower temperature gradient are achieved.

Abstract: The X ray tube has a metal chamber (2) under high vacuum and a cathode (3) connected to a very high voltage. A rotor assembly, connected to electrical earth, has a fixed axis (7), with one end (8) fixed to the chamber by an anode foot (9). The rotor (4) is guided around this axis and carries a rotating anode (1). A stator (5) surrounds the rotor, outside the chamber. This chamber section is a thin cylindrical envelope, deformable (17) on the rotor axis (D). The rotor assembly has control of displacement along its rotational axis. The deformable envelope may be bellows shaped. The rotating anode may be of two distinct materials, producing three zones (a,b,c).

Abstract: An X-ray tube including an envelope enclosing a flat-edged anode disc rotatable and axially reciprocable and further enclosing an electron beam source for projecting electrons along a beam axis toward the edge of the anode disc. The beam source is disposed to direct its beam at an acute angle of incidence to the edge of the anode disc and produce X-rays which are transmitted through a window in the envelope.

Abstract: A rotating anode x-ray tube employing a generally cylindrical anode which is axially moveable relative to the cathode so that the focal spot traverses a spiral path as the anode rotates and moves axially. The axial displacement of the anode can be controlled by the temperature of the focal spot, i.e. by measuring the light emitted from the focal spot area.

Abstract: A method for increasing the electron beam density and power of X-ray tubes, and a novel X-ray tube construction, wherein the target is in the form of an elongated member of target material, such as a strip, tape or filament, which is mechanically moved across the path of the electron beam to continuously present cold target material to the beam and remove heated target material from the electron beam path for cooling at a location spaced therefrom.

Abstract: 308,800. Pohl, E. March 31, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 293,318, R÷ntgen-ray tubes. - In u R÷ntgen-ray tube according to the parent Specification, one or more diaphragms are arranged between a flexibly - supported anticathode and the tube. As shown, the tube 1 is secured in a disc 43 mounted in a housing 41 having an aperture 42 for the rays, and the tubular support 3 for the anticathode 4 is mounted on a diaphragm 12b secured to a diaphragm 12a, which is connected to the cap 40 of the tube. The anticathode is rotated by means of a member 3 connected by a pin 53 with a crank 52 driven by a pulley 51 or by a flexible shaft 50, which may also serve as a lead for the supply of current to the anticathode; a ,cam drive may also be used. The anticathode is cooled by passage of a liquid through pipes 46, 47. An annular plate, rigidly connected to the cap 40, may be mounted in front of the anticathode so that during movement of that electrode a surface of even size is .exposed to the cathode, and the electric field about the point from which rays are emitted remains constant. The surface of the anticathode is arranged concentrically to the fulcrum of its carrier. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), comprises also the following. As shown in Fig. 1 (Cancelled), the cathode 9 is mounted in a metal tube supported from the cap 23 by one or more diaphragms 12. A screwthreaded part of the tube 10 engages with a tubular member 14, which is mounted in a sleeve 18 having a terminal 20 secured to an insulating tube 19. A central cathode lead 17 is connected through an insulated sleeve 16 and a contact pin 22 with another terminal 21. The cap 23 is of spherical shape and is seated in the end of the tube 19. An arrangement for rotating the tube is shown in Fig. 2 (Cancelled). The tube 1 is mounted on a bracket 25 integral with a tubular member 26 , which is adjustably secured to a pillar 26. An electric motor rotates a shaft 31, which has an adjustable coupling 32 and a crank 35 connected through a lever 36 with a pin 39 on the upper end of the tube. An elongated slot in the lever 36 is engaged by a bolt 38 on the member 26 . The point of emission of Rontgenrays is moved through a circle relatively to the cathode; or a cam disc may be used instead of the crank so as to impart other movements to the tube. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
