Abstract:
A rotary atomizing head type coating device capable of effecting coating while changing coating materials of many colors. A housing (12) equipped with a coating device (19) is attached to the wrist (5) of a coating robot. Separate feed units (29) each containing a coating material valve (40) and a solvent valve (41) are provided for each of the colors. Each feed unit (29) is connected to a coating material feed line (49) of each of the colors and to a solvent feed line (52) through a coating material hose (42) and a solvent hose (43). At the time of the coating operation, a feed unit (29) is changed and is attached to the housing (12) to feed the coating material of each of the colors to the coating device (19). Since a feed unit (29) is changed and is attached to the coating device (19), a single coating unit (11) makes it possible to execute the coating while changing the coating materials of many colors.
Abstract:
Provided between a housing (2) and a paint cartridge (20) is a magnetic holding mechanism (32) composed of a permanent magnet (33) provided on a bottom surface (4A) of a cartridge mount portion (4) and a magnetic member (34) provided on a front surface (21A) of a container (21) of the paint cartridge (20). As the container (21) is fitted on the cartridge mount portion (4), the paint cartridge (20) can be fixedly and securely held on the housing (2) by magnetic attraction between the permanent magnet (33) and the magnetic member (34). Accordingly, even if a trouble occurs to one of components which are operatively connected with the cartridge type coating machine (1), the paint cartridge (20) can be securely retained on the housing (2) by the magnetic holding mechanism (32).
Abstract:
A rotary atomizing head type coating device capable of preventing spark discharge from occurring around the rotary atomizing head. A rotary shaft (9) is made of insulating material and a rotary atomizing head (11) made of insulating resin material is attached to the front end of the rotary shaft (9). The outer peripheral surface of the rotary atomizing head (11) is formed with an atomizing head semiconductive film (14). And a first restricting ring (15) installed on a motor body (6) is formed with a first arcuate film (16), while a second restricting ring (17) installed in the rotary atomizing head (11) is formed with a second arcuate film (18). Further, the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft (9) is formed with a current feed semiconductive film (19) positioned between the arcuate films (16, 18). And a high voltage impressed on an air motor (5) is fed to the paint discharge end edge (12E) of the rotary atomizing head (11) successively through the first arcuate film (16), the current feed semiconductive film (19), the second arcuate film (18), and the atomizing head semiconductive film (14).
Abstract:
A cartridge (35) of each of the colors is detachably attached to a coating device (21) so that the coating materials of many colors can be applied by being changed one by one without discharging the coating materials. The cartridge (35) of each of the colors is changeably attached to the housing (22). The cartridge (35) is further provided with a coating valve (46) which provides communication and cutoff of a thinner valve (54) which provides communication and cutoff of a coating material feed passage (39A) in a feed tube (39). Either the housing (22) or the cartridge (35) is provided with a thinner passage (48) on the side of the housing. Thus, the single coating device (21) copes with the operation for changing many colors. The costing material valve (46) and the thinner valve (54) are opened and closed by a coating material spray instruction and a stop instruction, therefore, immediately after the instruction, the spray of coating material is started or stopped.
Abstract:
A washing fluid is supplied from the front surface of a rotary atomization head (28) by using a washing nozzle (14) to wash the head (28). A coating machine (20) is so mounted to a coating robot (1) as to be capable of moving in an arbitrary direction and a washing machine (10) for an atomization head is disposed in the proximity of the coating robot (1). The coating robot (1) is operated at the time of washing and the rotary atomization head (28) of the coating machine (20) is inserted into a waste liquid recovery container (13) of the washing machine (10) for the atomization head. A thinner is discharged from a washing nozzle (14) under this state and is supplied to the front surface of a hub member (30) constituting the rotary atomization head (28). The thinner flows from a solvent outflow port (30C) formed in the hub member (30) into the rotary atomization head (28) and washes away the paint adhering to the rotary atomization head (28).
