    Abstract: An articulated clamp connector is for interconnecting pipes, cables, etc. preferably underwater, where interconnecting ends of pipes are provided with connecting flanges with outer conical surfaces which interact with opposite surfaces of the clamp. When joining the pipes, the connecting flanges are pressed against each other and provide a metal seal between the flanges. The clamp connector has a set of outer articulated clamp halves for placing around the joining flanges, and a first tightening bolt for closing the outer clamp halves around the joining flange. Further, the clamp coupling has a split activating ring slideably arranged inside the outer clamp halves, a second tightening bolt arranged for tangential movement of the split activating ring, a number of spring elements arranged between the split activating ring and locking segments. These spring elements are placed in grooves, respectively, in the inner part of the split activating ring and the outer part of the locking segments. Tangential movement of the split activating ring when tightening the second tightening bolt, thus produces radial movement of the locking segments and the inner coned surfaces of the locking segments press the joining flanges together. Thus, an even distribution of pretension around the joining flanges is achieved, which initiates and maintains pretension in a metal sealing connection.

    Abstract: System and method for coupling of a bottom based pipeline to an adjacent riser pipe or another pipeline, of the kind wherein is utilized a bottom based coupling frame. The underside of the frame (2) is designed in order to undergo displaceable movements along the sea bottom or on a fundament thereon both during and subsequent to coupling of the pipelines to the frame. On the frame are mounted coupling members for one importing and one exporting pipeline, and a pipe connection between the pipe couplings, optionally including a valve and other equipment. In accordance with the method, a tool including a winch and a pulling wire, is mounted on the frame whereby the frame, including the pipeline, can be pulled together in order to accomplish the coupling operations.

    Abstract: A coupling arrangement for use in subsea electrical power distribution comprising a first coupling part ( 1 a), which is provided with a first contact member ( 3 a) arranged in a first contact housing ( 2 a) and an attachment ( 4 a) for a first power conduit, and a second coupling part ( 1 b), which is provided with a second contact member ( 3 b) arranged in a second contact housing ( 2 b) and an attachment ( 4 b) for a second power conduit to be connected to the first power conduit by means of the coupling arrangement. A contact element ( 10 ) is displaceably arranged in the contact housing ( 2 b) of one of the coupling parts ( 1 b) so as to be displaceable towards the contact member ( 3 a) of the other coupling part ( 1 a), when the contact housings ( 2 a, 2 b) are secured to each other, from a first position, in which no electric connection between the contact members ( 3 a, 3 b) is established by the contact element ( 10 ), and into a second position, in which the contact element ( 10 ) is establishing electric connection between the contact members.
