    Abstract: A configurable cryogenic storage device has a freezer (120) and a rack carrier positioned inside of the freezer. The freezer includes a bearing (733) and a drive shaft (231) though the freezer, the drive shaft being coupled to the rack carrier inside the freezer and adapted to be coupled to a motor assembly. The rack carrier rests on the bearing in a manual rotation configuration and hangs from the drive shaft when the motor is connected. Coupling the drive shaft to the motor assembly lifts the rack carrier and decouples the bearing and enables automated rotation of the rack carrier by the motor. The rack carrier includes rack-mounting features holding a plurality of sample storage racks (480). The sample storage racks hang from the rack carrier and the rack-mounting features precisely position the end of each sample storage rack.

    Abstract: A cryogenic fluid delivery system includes a main tank system with a main tank adapted to contain a first supply of cryogenic liquid, and reserve tank system with reserve tank adapted to contain a second supply of cryogenic liquid. A pressure building circuit is adapted to delivery vapor to the head space of the main tank to build pressure in the main tank and a fuel delivery line supplies cryogenic fuel from either the main tank or the reserve tank to a use device. The reserve tank stores saturated cryogenic fuel that is delivered to the use device via the fuel delivery line while the cryogenic liquid in the main tank is being saturated. The fluid delivery system automatically switches to delivering cryogenic fuel from the main tank to the use device via the fuel delivery line upon saturation of the cryogenic liquid in the main tank.

    Abstract: A cryocooler is described that can include a pressure wave generator, and a refrigeration device (for example, a coldhead), which can be used to liquefy a gas when the gas is exposed to a surface of the refrigeration device. The pressure wave generator can include one or more motors. Each motor can include a stator, and at least one electrical coil wound around a portion of the stator. The electrical coil can generate a reversing magnetic field when alternating electric current is passed through the electrical coil. The motor can further include a pressurized container that can be placed within the space enclosed by the stator, and a piston that can be placed inside the pressurized container. The stators can be placed external to the pressurized container. The piston is made by combining magnets that have opposite and transverse polarities, and are combined adjacently on a common reciprocating axis.

    Abstract: Cooling of a meter by liquid flowing in a flow that is reverse from dispensing flow is described. A plurality of tubes is configured to transport a plurality of fluids comprising a first fluid and a second fluid. Dispense valves attached to corresponding tubes are configured to open when the first fluid is dispensed from a pump to a first outlet. Recirculation valves attached to respective tubes are configured to open when the second fluid is transported from the pump to a second outlet. A meter attached to a tube of the plurality of tubes is configured to measure properties of a fluid when the fluid flows through the tube, wherein the fluid is one of the first fluid and the second fluid.     Abstract: A body structure includes an inlet port that receives fluid from a delivery device, a top-fill outlet port that connects to a top-fill line in communication with a cryogenic tank, a bottom-fill port that connects to a bottom-fill line in communication with a cryogenic tank and a slider tube cylinder. A cylinder housing is connected to the body structure and has a pressure comparison cylinder with an upper volume and a lower volume, with the latter in fluid communication with a cryogenic tank. A piston slides within the pressure comparison cylinder and a piston shaft is connected to the piston. A pressure regulator is in fluid communication with the upper volume of the pressure comparison cylinder and the slider tube cylinder. A slider tube is connected to the piston shaft and slides within the slider tube cylinder. The slider tube cylinder directs fluid to a top-fill line through the top-fill outlet port when a pressure in the lower volume exceeds a pressure setpoint and fluid to a bottom-fill line through the bottom-fill outlet port when the pressure in the lower volume is below a pressure setpoint. An over-pressure member is positioned in the upper volume of the pressure comparison cylinder. The piston contacts the over-pressure member as the piston slides upward in the pressure comparison cylinder.

    Abstract: A vaporizer system includes a defrosting function along with the ability to convert liquefied gas to a use gas. The vaporizer system includes first and second vaporizers and piping that transfers fluid from an inlet port to an outlet port with a portion of the piping being between the first and second vaporizer. The system also includes a trim heater and a number of valves for regulating flow of the fluid through the transfer piping. The valves may be placed in a first configuration where vapor from the first vaporizer is heated and directed to the second vaporizer so that the second vaporizer is defrosted and a second configuration where vapor from the second vaporizer is heated and directed to the first vaporizer so that the first vaporizer is defrosted.
