Abstract:
A cylinder position sensor a cylinder including the same. At least one magnet is coupled to a component of the cylinder. A sense element provides an output in response to magnetic flux from the magnet. The output of the sense element varies with the position of a piston and piston rod with respect to a cylinder barrel.

Abstract:
A vehicle gear box shift actuator and apparatus including the same. The actuator includes a lead screw; a drive nut threaded on the lead screw; a plunger; a first spring disposed between the drive nut and a first end of the plunger: a second spring disposed between the drive nut and a second end of the plunger opposite from the first end. Non-contact position sensing of the actuator output is also provided.
Abstract:
A thermostat actuator is provided for controlling a flow rate of coolant through a cooling system. The actuator includes a motor and a drive train including an anti-back-drive mechanism. The actuator further includes an integral position feedback system that for indicating a position of an element of the actuator to ensure that the actuator has moved to a commanded position. The actuator is configured to be readily adaptable to different position feedback systems providing varying degrees of position feedback resolution.
Abstract:
A switch assembly may include a housing having a body and an over-molded feature. The over-molded feature may include a flexible membrane sealingly engaged with the body and defining an actuation portion. The housing may be configured to sealingly engage a finish panel. A back cover may sealingly engage the housing, and a rocker may be included between the actuation portion and the back cover to transmit a force applied to the actuation portion to actuate a switch.
Abstract:
A solenoid valve is provided generally including a bobbin for supporting a coil and a core located adjacent to the bobbin. An armature is movably disposed relative to the core. A plunger is coupled to the armature and movable with the armature. A seal is coupled to the plunger, with the seal movable between an open position and a closed position sealingly engaged with a valve seat. The solenoid valve further includes a plunger damper which includes a resilient feature that is configured to engage the plunger when the seal moves toward the closed position. The plunger damper may damp, or cushion, any impact between the seal and the valve seat.
Abstract:
A seat buckle sensor system is provided that provides an output representative of a lock condition of a seat belt buckle (100). The system includes a magnet (118) on an end (116) of a seat buckle lock pin (106) and a Hall device (108). The lock pin (106), and magnet (118) on the end (116) thereof, move between a locked position and an unlocked position relative to the Hall device (108). The magnet (118) imparts a first magnetic flux on the Hall device (108) in the locked position causing the Hall device (108) to produce a first output. The magnet (118) imparts a second magnetic flux on the Hall device (108) in the unlocked position causing the Hall device to produce a second output.
Abstract:
A non-contact position sensor including a plurality of sensor elements configured in an array. Each of the sensor elements is configured to provide an output associated with each of a plurality of positions of a sensor control element relative to the position sensor, whereby a separate combination of the outputs is provided for each of the positions. In one embodiment, the sensor elements may be Hall effect sensors, and the sensor control element may be a magnet. In another embodiment, the sensor elements may be Hall effect sensors and the sensor control element may be a shunt for blocking a magnetic field the Hall effect sensors. A vehicle seat position sensor system and a method of sensing vehicle seat position are also provided.
Abstract:
An electromechanical actuator (10) including an output shaft structure coupled to an output gear to allow relative motion therebetween upon application of a predetermined level of force to the output shaft structure. A fuel filler valve system (25) and a method of providing pinch protection are also provided.
Abstract:
A dielectric resonator system (100) having a dielectric element (102) and a purified alumina attachment assembly (106) both housed within a metallic resonant casing (104). Attachment assembly (106) is at least 99.5% pure alumina. Attachment assembly (106) couples dielectric element (102) to the casing (104). Dielectric element (102) is an internally threaded ring or disk. Attachment assembly (106) includes an externally threaded alumina support member (107) coupled to the internally threaded dielectric element (102).
