PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an interference of a steering column assembly with any part of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The steering column assembly 12 is provided, which has a handle 14 movable to an extended position and a retreated position along an axis and capable of being tilted between a tilt position and a non-tilt position making a pivot shaft as a center. A control mechanism 42 restricts an angle and a degree of the tilt movement of the handle 14 such that the steering column can be tilted to the first maximum tilt angle in the case where the steering column assembly 12 is positioned at the extended position and such that the steering column can be tilted to the second maximum tilt angle in the case where it is positioned at the retreated position. The second maximum tilt angle is smaller than the first maximum tilt angle such that the steering column assembly 12 does not interfere with any part of the vehicle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rattling of a steering wheel for a vehicle and increase the touch of a road. SOLUTION: A rattling reducing method and device uses a column mounted steering system. A method for reducing audible noises in a steering system 10 transmitted through a transmitting medium including the column mounted steering system interrupts the transmitting medium and absorbs road impact energy through the steering system 10. Column assistance isolation systems 68, 168 each comprise a sleeve 78 arranged on a housing 50 for the electric steering system, a first bushing 84 arranged at a first end 80 of the sleeve 78, and a second bushing 86 arranged at a second end 82 of the sleeve 78. Each the first bushing 84 and the second bushing 86 comprises a flexible material.

SOLUTION: This heat exchanger assembly 102 includes a condenser assembly 106, a radiator assembly 104, a fan shroud 108 and a clip 204 for holding the condenser assembly 106. The clip includes a base part 302, a first engagement part 308, a second engagement part 310 and a lock part 322. The base part has a first end 304, a second end 306, a top side 324 and a bottom side. The first engagement part is extended from the bottom side of the base part and has a first flange 312A and a second flange 312B. The first flange and the second flange form a groove 314 along the first end of the base part. The second engagement part is extended from the bottom side of the base part along the second end of the base part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight radio/CD player for vehicular application, which is "fastenerless" and provided with details to accept playback mechanisms and audio devices, as well as circuit boards required for electrical control and display.SOLUTION: The player comprises a case and frontal interface of a composite structure including an insert molded electrically conductive wire mesh screen. The PCB architecture is divided into first board carrying common circuit components in a surface mount configuration suitable for high volume production, and second board carrying application specific circuit components in a wave soldered stick mount configuration. Major components and subassemblies are self-fixturing during the final assembly process, eliminating the need for dedicated tools etc. The major components and subassemblies self-interconnect by integral guide and self-connection mechanisms of a slide lock and a snap lock. The radio architecture includes improved push buttons employing 4-bar living hinge linkage and front loaded decorative trim buttons.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robust transducer element coil apparatus with a small mass for effectively transferring heat of a coil during charging a battery.SOLUTION: A coil apparatus includes a first housing 86 and a second housing that surroundingly encloses the first housing. The first housing has a coil arrangement disposed therein. The coil arrangement includes a ferrite layer 72 and a thermally-conductive silicone layer 70 that overlies the ferrite layer. A wire conductor surrounds the first housing. A structure is received in an opening defined in the first housing to be in thermal communication with the thermally-conductive silicone layer. Another thermally-conductive silicone layer 77 overlies the first housing and the structure so that the structure is also in thermal communication therewith. A metal layer 80 further overlies the thermally-conductive silicone layer that overlies the first housing. The coil apparatus is associated with an electrical charging system (ECS) that electrically charges an energy storage device (ESD) disposed on a motorized vehicle.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve train system that allows for varying amounts of rebreath of exhaust constituents, allows the rebreath of exhaust constituents to be discontinued when desired, and allows the rebreath of exhaust constituents to occur near the end of the intake stroke.SOLUTION: The valve train system for an internal combustion engine includes an exhaust valve moveable between an exhaust closed position and an exhaust open position. A camshaft includes: a main exhaust lobe for moving the exhaust valve between the exhaust closed position and the exhaust open position for expelling exhaust constituents from the combustion chamber; and an exhaust rebreath lobe for moving the exhaust valve between the exhaust closed position and the exhaust open position for allowing exhaust constituents into the combustion chamber. A two-step device is provided for transmitting motion from the camshaft to the exhaust valve and is switchable between a motion transmitting position and a motion preventing position such that the motion transmitting position allows motion to be transmitted from the exhaust rebreath lobe to the exhaust valve and the motion preventing position prevents motion from being transmitted from the exhaust rebreath lobe to the exhaust valve.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling the operation of a diesel engine of a motor vehicle with a reduced number of sensors and reduced calculation capacity.SOLUTION: The system 38 for controlling the operation of a diesel engine comprises a means for acquiring the pressure of a reference cylinder and a means for controlling a supply means as a function of the acquired pressure and a desired fuel supply value for each cylinder. The control means includes: slaving means 52 and 62 suitable for subordinate supply of the fuel to the reference cylinder to the desired fuel supply value as a function of the acquired pressure; a means 64 for acquiring a drive-shaft rotation speed generated by the displacement of a piston of the reference cylinder and the displacement of a piston of at least one other cylinder; and actuating means 68, 70, 72, 74 and 62 for actuating supply of the fuel to at least the one other cylinder as a function of the acquired rotation speed by subordinating the rotation speed related to the at least one other cylinder to the rotation speed related to the reference cylinder.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tight electrical and mechanical coupling, and to provide a connector capable of eliminating the injury of the coupling portion which is caused by its corrosion. SOLUTION: A cable assembly has a caulked terminal in the periphery of conductors 14. The caulked terminal 12 includes: a plurality of caulked portions 16, 18 which are separated from each other; and a traveling caulked portion 20 interposed between these caulked portions 16, 18. The method of manufacturing the cable assembly includes: a step of deforming the terminal 12 in the periphery of the conductors 14 and forming the plurality of caulked portions having different caulking heights; and a step of deforming the terminal 12 in the periphery of the conductors 14 and forming the traveling caulked portion 20 between the plurality of respective caulked portions. The caulking height of the traveling caulked portion 20 is different from the caulking heights of the plurality of respective caulked portions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
