Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the preparation of polyamide 66 from an aqueous solution of hexamethylene diamine adipic acid salt (AH salt), wherein a solution of AH salt is first concentrated. The concentration is done in at least two steps, by at least two concentrators in series. The staged concentration is combined with subsequent polymerization in a plurality of reactors placed in parallel and operated in a batch mode. The process allows considerable energy- saving, by applying the steam from one concentrator as a heating medium in another concentrator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the preparation of a reinforced polymer composition which contains fibrils of a crystalline polyolefin having a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of at least 5 x 10 kg/kmol, particles of the crystalline polyolefin being converted into fibrils in a matrix material which is immiscible with the crystalline polyolefin, in which method the crystalline polyolefin has a maximum stretch ratio of at least 20 and the conversion to fibrils takes place at a temperature below the melting point of the crystalline polyolefin. The invention also relates to reinforced polymer compositions obtainable by this method.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a polymer composition consisting of a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer with a molecular weight of 50,000 - 200,000 g/mole and 1-50 % (wt) of a reinforcing fibre, in which polymer composition the styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer has a maleic anhydride content of 22-40 % (wt) and in which the ratio between the weight percentage of glass fibre, calculated on the whole polymer composition, and the maleic anhydride content, calculated on the styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, is 0.62 to 1.40.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a multicomponent system based on an oxazoline and a phosphorus-containing compound. The phosphorus-containing compound is a compound according to formula (ABO)PO(OH)2 or (ABO)2PO(OH) or a mixture based on these compounds, A being an acid residue corresponding to acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or crotonic acid and B being corresponding to a branched or non-branched divalent aliphatic alcohol with 2-6 carbon atoms. Preferably, the phosphorus-containing compound is the phosphate ester of hydroxyethylmethacrylate (PEMA). The invention is particularly well-suited for use in reaction injection moulding (RIM) systems.
Abstract:
Polytetramethylene adipamide resin compositions with high-melt stability. The high-melt stability without loss of mechanical properties is obtained by addition of 0,01 to 3 parts by weight of at least one compound selected out of the groups of aminosilanes, epoxysilanes and vinylsilanes to 100 parts by weight of the polyamide.
Abstract:
Washing tank for separating particles differing the specific gravity by means of a liquid separatory medium using the float-and-sink method. The washing (1) tank is provided with at least one collecting tray (10) for removing the settled particles, which collecting tray can be reciprocated along the bottom of the washing tank and in the first extreme position is about centrally on the bottom of the washing tank, where it can collect settling particles, and in the second extreme positions rests on the edge of the washing tank, so tilted that settled particles contained in it can slide into a discharge device (11, 12) positioned next to the washing tank. Preferably, the washing tank is provided with two alternating collecting trays (9, 10) hingingly attached to arms fixed on a horizontal shaft (15) swinging to and fro between two extreme positions.
Abstract:
The disclosure pertains to a nitric acid production process and plant. The process involves supplying an oxygen gas stream and ammonia feedstock to the burner section. In embodiments, a part of the tail gas stream (4) is heated in a tail gas heating section (7) and supplied to the burner section (1).
Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure pertain to a chemical reactor comprising a mixing zone comprising first static mixer and a second static mixer both arranged in shell of the reactor, wherein the second static mixer is positioned further from said first inlet than said first static mixer, wherein the second static mixer is adapted for more intimate mixing of fluids in the reaction mixture than the first static mixer.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for stripping in a stripper a urea synthesis solution received from a urea forming process wherein ammonia and CO2 are reacted under urea forming conditions. The shell space of the stripper comprises a continuous vertical zone.
Abstract:
A fluidized bed granulator for granulation with urea or urea-containing liquids is described, wherein the granulation liquid is supplied via a supply manifold comprising a header and risers. The risers are at least in part provided inside channels for secondary gas.
